My Service Engine Soon light came on recently. Since it was free, I went ahead and took it to autozone to check it out. (That might part of my problem) Anyways they said it was my catalytic converter bank 2. The deal is that I had both replaced in Jan. 07 and have only put 12,000 on it since then. I should also bring up that I installed a K&N air intake in April 07 and also had replace all 4 o2 sensors in May 07. My question is would an aftermarket intake make my cats go bad that quick or could there be such a thing as a defective converter? It has a 5 year or 50,000 mile limited warranty. I also wonder if having the aftermarket air intake void the warranty? Has anyone had a similar problem?

Going to try and get a friend to check out with his diagnostics computer this week to get another opinion.I have heard autozone is not always accurate plus my friends' computer actually tells you what is wrong with truck not just give a bunch of codes for you to look up.

Just my 1st thoughts you maybe running rich temp.sensor or not getting eng up to temp. thermostat or dumping to much fuel like fuel getting into intake Hope you find the problem

Somethings not right for sure. Regular cats should last at least 50k miles and Even taking out 4 stock cats and putting in 2 high performance cats will still last from 2 to 3 years. Maybe your running supper rich.
