| | There is only 1 truck that I ever had a muffler on and that was my 93 F-250 with a 460 only because I had no cat and duals. I had a flowmaster delta 40 race muffler on it and I loved it. It took the rasp out of the exhaust and gave the truck an amazing exhaust note. | |

| I would put on Bassani Cat Back system. Ive had mine now for 5 years and they are perfect. They have great aggressive sound and they get the best performance on the Dyno.
If you want them louder put on a set of High Performance Cats.

| We're running a 2 into 1 (stock Expy style setup) Magnaflow on the Expedition - sounds good, but not super hot-roddy. Duals would be better. I think it sounds great for a single exhaust though.
I have Edelbrock mufflers on our '94 Cobra, and I've gotten all kinds of complements on how they sound with the 5.0L engine ever since I put them on (10 years ago).
If you live in a rust-producing area, I'd buy a brand that produces Stainless... that'd be Magnaflow or Bassani. Magnaflow is cheaper.

| | I'm a Flowmaster guy myself. They don't have any packing to burn out, and they are aluminum, so no rust (I think. I could be lying). But I'm just addicted to the sound they make. Granted, they are a bit louder than some people would like, but that's the price of cool, my friend. | |

| | Finally installed a new muffler. I decided on a Magnaflow. Great tone, not too loud and of course improved performance. And, Magnaflow HQ is just around the corner from the restaurant. They were kind enough to sell to me direct. I got it for next to nothing. Anybody have any suggestions on headers? I'm looking at either Doug Thorley or Edelbrock. I checked on Bassani but they don't make a set for my vehicle. | |

| My experience with Edelbrock products in general is that, aside from intake manifolds, they don't engineer much of their own stuff. So you can get the same thing (Carter AFB carburetors, for example) much cheaper somewhere else. And its never the best product, good, but not the best.
I think I remember Doug Thorley being pretty good, but I could be wrong.
Of course, you can always go with Hooker.

| This is the synopsis of this thread:
1. If your Muff is Too big Then it is allowable to replace it with one more your size.
2. If you want good Head, go with a Hooker.

| Magnaflow is great and after recently having some oddball issue with the catback on my driver's side muffler, their customer service is outstanding. They are helping me fix everything under warranty. They aren't like most companies that have a warranty only under their terms. In less than 24 hours from me asking them about it the entire situation was resolved.
Great people over there.

| I'm glad to hear that you like the Magnaflow setup - we're still happy with ours! It sounds like you are very near me! Where is your restaurant? I am over by Oakley.

| I have Bassani on my L and love the sound. I am getting ready to order there mid pipes for the L also. All my other vehicals have had Flowmaster and have always like the sound and performance I received with Flowmaster.

| | My magnaflow has seen better days. The caseing is rusting and I have developed a small leak in the pipe some where. Its not bad to drive you nutz but for us truck guys we know its there. I think I am going to go back to the flowmasters with my next set up. And its going to be dualed out coming out where the stock set up would on both sides. I did the straight out the back, ehh it was ok, but when they do the duals here they put them where the bumper meets the body. I just don't dig it. | |
