My parking brake on my truck is useless. It has 4 wheel disk brakes and I can't find any spot to adjust the parking brake. Anyone know how to do this.

There is probably an adjustment hole just under the axle tube, if yours is a fairly late model Ford. It adjusts just like drum brakes, tighten till they grag, then back them off til they don't. I hope you don't have a f-550. The backing plate needs to come off for those.

This is one of the reasons I have a Chevy, just easier to work on.
Good Luck !

Aren't they intended to self-adjust if you pump the (parking) brake while going in reverse (or something like that)? I thought that that was what the star adjusters were for on that type of brake.

I actually haven't had to work on the E-brake on the Fords the utility company owns that I fix the trucks for yet, but I have seen the touble that the lack of adjustment space for backing the E-brake off when replacing the shoes, that fellow mechanics have encountered with the F-550s. They have torched the adjuster screw to get the rotors off.
The Ford service site just says to back them off for removal, or to adjust them like when you change brake shoes. " OR ",Maybe Ford has a goofy shaped adjuster for these like you need for a Taurus.

My turn finally came up to replace the Emergency brake on out shop truck F-550. We change it because the springs on it rusted away, and the shoes got ground up, and locked the wheel. ANYHOW, we replaced the complete E-brake assembly. It gets adjusted to .o2o inches of air gap.
I never have seen an self adjusting parking brake on anything. If they need adjusting, it should not be but maybe once in the life of the shoesafter the replace job, otherwise the driver needs the warning light on the dash fixed cause he/she is driving with it applied.
Something I was FINALLY impressed with on this FORD is the axle flange has a tapered O-ring seal on it that can be re-used.
I hope this is more than what you need to get yers fixed.

The F-150's def have one, its a self adjusting star thing and they adjust when the truck is in reverse or something like stated above. I have had both replaced.
