I have a simple JL 5 channel with 500 Watts. Two 10" subs. Its plenty loud. Im not looking to loose my hearing. My motor is over 120 DB at full throttle. Thats enough ear damage.

Right now just 1 Kicker amp for the 2 8" Solobarics.

Need to add a 4-channel amp for the door speakers though.

I really love the new Alpine PDX-4.150, I read a review in Car Audio they loved, and their review didn't do it justice. Simply Awesome, I just dropped it in my truck, and go the new Alpine PLT-5 powered sub. Can't touch the SQ and output inthe same amount of space. I replaced my JL 10W6 and 500/1 and this kills it for SQ and plays way deeper, really great. I choose the PDX 4 channel, and the powered sub, cuz I couldn't fit a typical sub. I couldn't believe how great my system sounds. I can now sit real sized people in the passenger seat of my truck since I was able to replace my big amp rack and sub with an amp under the seat, and a box with seat all the way back. You really should check it out, At first when I heard it at a local shop the sub wasn't impressive until I put it into my truck, and then WOW!

In the Expy I've got Rockford Fosgate amps- a 100X2 for the subs and a 50X4 for the mids/tweeters. Not real loud but it does sound good when you put a dvd in.

Yeah, I love it, It sounds really tight, and there is nothing that I could have built made or purchased at any price that would sound this good in this little space, believe me I tried. The LAT is really cool, and plays Deep for what it is. I had tried tubes, bass link etc and was about to give up when I heard about this thing. I didn't want to lose leg room. I have had many systems over the years with multiple subs and always fought group delay and over hang this thing has none of it. THe box is pretty special I guess as well it appears to be a 4th order BP with an additional slot vent. If you square the signal or clip it you will get port chuffle, but it plays way louder than any other crappy "Solution" I have tried in my truck. I mentioned in another blog that I was really used to having bass in a trunk with a large box, and until now I was un happy. It plays quite low relatively flat. I listen to a wide variety of stuff but had no problem with 40-45hz Mike Jones , "WHO?". I paired it up with the new PDX-4.150 which simply put kicks ass best amp I've had in 18 years of doing this. Al in all if you have atruck and want bass with out sacrificing space for a bigger box amp rack etc, there is no better choice. If your first requirement is "Bass taht ate the Earth" and spce is not an issue then maybe not, but my buddy isthinga bout 2 in his 84 STD CAB Chevy. All in all I love it no better solution for its size period!

You guys call that amp-power....check this out;
Christina is boasting a super powerful radio in her 64 bug....A wopping 2.5 watts blasting out her single dash mounted stock blaupunkt 3"speaker.Power comes from a stock 6 volt blaupunkt radio!!But thats nothing compared to the sounds blasting out of the 61 fairlane 500 I'll be tooling around in this summer we are talking some steller power here......Yup another stock AM radio.....I'm thinking at one time this thing had so much power that it completely blew the paper off the cone in the speaker!!I just wish It would turn on?Looks really pretty at night thoughOk most of you know me better than that....both are in the works for some big sound this spring....just have not made a choice on components yet.As for the new Chrysler 300.....Rockford 5oo watt amp and a kicker 10" woofer hooked up to the factory stereo and bose speakers.....I could not see any reason to swap out the factory head unit.Besides I can't seem to find a dash panel that will work with a standard removable face deck?
