You Gotta love a woman with a screen name like that.
Anyway on to the question. The motor really doesn't have an expiration date as per say. It's life is relative to how well it was taken care of. The 7.3 is a very reliable engine and can last well past the 170K miles that is on the one you are looking at. The transmission and other components will need replacing before the motor, generally.
With that said, I would not want an '02 with that many miles. They were probably highway miles but that is still a lot. I would pass if it were me. TA

I would try finding a 7.3 with less than 150,000 on it. They are a very dependable engine and I have two friends with over 400,000 on the clock and still going. One is a 96 with a manual and the other is a 2000 with a manual.

He had a Dodge Ram 1500 a few years ago (gas) I thought it had a lot of interior noise, always sounded like somethng was gonna fall off!!! I just LOVE my Ford and hope he gets one... Actually I'm looking at it as a parts truck for me

BTW SIZMADRS is the tag on my truck, now you know why my husband wants his own truck...
