We are moving from Colorado to Alabama (1,700 miles) in the next month and need to rent a moving truck and tow a second truck of ours, a 1986 Ford F-150. What size moving truck do I need? Will the 24' truck able to tow this vehicle? Thank you for your responses.

A 24' moving truck should tow that easily.

A trailer is far and away the safest way to tow the truck. Its worth the little extra money to rent.

Find a trailer. I found the biggest one i could find when I mive from Alamogordo NM to dover and had to bring my old bronco. I found a trailer that could hold over 5,000 lbs. I had to since my truck weighed close to 5 with all the extra stuff i had added to it.

With a trailer, you have piece of mind knowing a blow out with be fixed by rental company, you save wear and tear on your truck, and you can the truck full of more goods and even cover the truck on the trailer.
