Anyone order Fatmat recently? Did you have any problems?

I placed an order over a week ago for some Fatmat eXtreme from their website. Got an order conformation emailed right away.

Went to their site to check status of order, the status is not working. So I call their toll free phone number, fast busy like it disconnected! I call their regular number, a voice mail system answers right away with the message that this mail box is full and not excepting any more calls and hangs up. So I go back to the web site find their email and email them, It bounces back with not deliverable, bad address!

Good news is that they haven't charged my visa yet. I'm NOT getting a very good feeling about this transaction!

I googled fatmat and there's a lot of folks on forums saying they have really slow delivery time as much as a month. I think Monday I will have my bank cancel the transaction since I can't get a hold of them.

I went ahead and placed a order for some RAAMmat BXT, hopefully I can get this delivered! From what I have read, it good stuff!

Anyone using RAAMmat? What are your thoughts?

Thanks Sam

Yes, they take about a month to actually ship and never answer the phone. I ran into that problem when I ordered 50 sqft for my dad's birthday. Since then, I switched to peel & seal from home depot.

Awesome service from RAAMaudio!

I got an email today stating that my order shipped Friday! Wow, it was like 4:30 CST when I ordered it Friday! Got a tracking number and it will be here this Wedensday!

Everything I have read compaires RAAMmat better and easier to work with than Fatmat.

Looks like I'm guttin my truck next weekend.

I didn't really announce here on the TB but my truck was robbed on Aug 1st. They smashed out my passenger window, took my head unit, MTX amps, MTX Thunderform, Cell phone and did about 1000 bucks worth of damage, right in front of my house in the driveway!

Well, I'm slowly getting replacement stuff for my truck stereo. I bought a used sub box off of CraigsList, it's a Probox brand, very heavy duty in great shape! It holds 2-10". What I had before was a MTX Thunderform, had 2-8" subs (very expensive). I bought 2 brand new 10" subs, there Probox brand, one word describes them, Massive! I bought a bigger sub amp than I had, used (MTX) off of Ebay. Got a brand new 07 model Kenwood KDC-X891 head unit. I ordered 125 sq ft of RAAMmat BXTT sound deadener, I'm going to take my cab to the next level of quiet and acoustics with the deadener, it will be a lot of work, but worth it.

I'm moving my amps from under the drivers seats and rear bench to behind the rear seat on the rear wall and putting them in with security screws. I got some plumbers tape (Strap) I'm going to strap down the sub box, you'll have to remove the rear seat back and have a security tool to unscrew it!

Going to use that plumber strap and attach it to the rear of my radio, then run it down inside the dash and out the bottom, find a good dash or firewall screw and pull the strap tight and secure it. They will have hell trying to snatch and run this time! Insurance covers everything they break (Damage) no problem!

Things are looking up!

I've beefed up security here at the house, I'm parking in my back yard behind a fenced in yard and locked gate. I bought a bunch of used x10 home automation stuff, A whole system off of ebay...cheap, man this stuff is great!!! , I have motions covering my truck that kicks on a double 100 watt flood lights and my back porch light, also sounds a chime in the house. I'm turning on a 500 watt halogen flood every night at dusk and off at dawn. I have motions and lights all the way around my house now. I can control all the light though my computer and my son Sterling can too on his computer! I have a wireless remote I can turn all the lights on & off with. I have a night vision cctv camera watching my truck that I can flip my TV to aux and monitor my truck. Sterling has all the controls and video back in his room too. He is in the back of the house, I'm in the front. The trucks in the middle, LOL!!!

It's helping me sleep at night.....some!

Funny, I've done electronic security for folks for 27 years and this is the first I have ever done for myself.

Later

Sam

I'm starting to build up parts to secure my system since I saw your post on FTW. So far I've got security torx screws for the subs, speakers and amp rack, and I'm going to bolt the box to the cab floor with headless stainless bolts and have the nut inside the box behind the subs. For the headunit, all I can really do is keep the face with me.
