Mort's right..before you hotrod your diesel, the best thing to do is to get a set of gauges.
But, since you're not doing that as it's only temporary, do understand that you run the risk of blowing up your engine, even at the 35 hp tune...especially while towing.
There's only a certain number of things the tuner will do, and that's advance your timing, and increase your injection pulse width.
The former will allow it to run cooler, but may increase cylinder pressure.
The latter generates more power, but at the expense of increased heat (EGT).
So, I hope this makes you better informed to make an educated decision.
From what it sounds like, I'd rather just drive the truck stock with the toy hauler... | |
