I have a F250 2002 4x4 7.3 diesel and it is stuck in 4 wheel drive. It is NOT the manual shift on the fly but has the electronic switch. It was raining heavily so I turned on my 4x4 and a little latter I tried to turn it off (via switch) and it would not turn....stuck in 4 wheel drive.

I tried the manual locking hubs turning them on and then off. I backed up greater than 20 feet and shut off my engine. I think I have it out of 4x4 but now it will not switch back on.
I replaced the 30amp fuse and that did not seem to work.

A friend told me there is rear sensor like the front engine CAM sensor that could case electronic dash devices to fail. A week or so my CD player will not play and can only listen to the radio. I am not sure if these two instances are related.

There are 2 things most commonly associated with a Super Duty sticking in 4x4. The first question would be to decide whether or not you are stuck in 4hi or 4lo. If you're stuck in 4lo, then make sure that all of the parameters are met to shift out of 4lo (vehicle at a dead stop, in neutral, foot on brake). If that doesn't work, or you are stuck in 4hi, the most common problem is the vacuum lines. In 4x4 auto, the hubs are applied by vacuum. If those lines are torn off, leak, etc, you will lose that vacuum pressure. This can usually also be tested by adjusting you're cab heat from vent to defrost or floor. The same vacuum is applied to move the blend door for the heater system. As far as the radio, that wouod be a different issue. The cd player and all its controls are internal in the head unit. It must be a stereo problem. Hope it helps.
