Anyone out there know where the mass airflow sensor on a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 is located ?

I'm not sure of the exact location, but look between the airbox and the throttle body, along the intake tube. It'll be the only thing (probably) with a plug sticking out of it.

Thanks for the info. I saw on the show trucks that it needs to be cleaned every so often. Any ideas no how to do that ?

Why yes.



A normal mass airflow sensor, instead of those five lines in the middle, will have a honeycomb grid that senses the airflow (hence the name). Remove it from the truck and spray some electrical contact cleaner on them. Some auto parts stores even carry a special MAF sensor cleaner also, which does the same thing. Spray it, let it dry, and reinstall.

Be careful not to touch the sensor they are very fragile and can break easily
