Not sure how many of you were aware of the large UP train trestle fire of March 15th... 300 feet of elevated double track burnt to a crisp.

Well, two weeks later after a marathon effort, one of the tracks re-opened last night. No worries about the frickin' green breasted bush beater, noise complaints, etc... UP gets it done! Good job guys!

Second track should re-open within two weeks, way ahead of schedule.

Maybe it was the flaming exhaust pipes that lit the fire!

Jim Dobbas rebuilt the bridge, they don't mess around!! http://www.jimdobbasinc.com/services.htm

I was on the way home from Modesto that Thursday, from the south it just looked like a big nasty thundercloud, but that was about 6:30PM

They're probably getting fined for doing it so fast. I'm sure there was some endangered animal that made it's home in the ashes.

Which brings up my favorite quote...

I know after the Northridge Earthquake a lot of the rules went out the window to get I 10 open again, it is amazing what can happen when the Bureaucracy gets out of the way.
