| Im running the belltech 3-4 drop on my truck, with hangers/shackles out back and coils out front. Belltech makes a good lowering kit, but their shocks could be a little better. The basic kit comes with the nitro drop shocks, but you can upgrade to the nitro active shocks. I would recomend upgrading to the actives or buying the basic kit, selling the nitro drops and going with something a little better. I have always heard good things about billstien and doetsch.
Check out summitracing.com for the drop kit, they had the best prices by far when I was buying mine. I havent looked in a while (I bought my kit about 3 years ago) but back then everybody recomended the belltech over the DJM. Oh yeah, if they make a 3/4 kit for your truck, I would recomend getting that over the 2/4. With coils, it never seems like you get the full drop that the kit claims. | |

| | I have belltechs 3/4 and I haven't had any problems with the shocks that came with the kit. The kit improved my ride by eliminating the bounce in the front end and softening the ride in the rear. | |

| I too ran the Belltech on my old 2000 F-150. I read that it may have had driveshaft problems on my extended cab, and I only *think* it happened once or twice (loaded, and a big bump). That was something specific to my particular truck, and I don't think the Chevy's will be the same with that.
All I can say is the Belltech was a great quality kit, and the install was very easy. I was even able to accomplish it with the worst hangover I've ever had (New Years Day), and an hour or so on the air hammer. Fuck, it still gives me a headache just thinking about it, a year and a half later.
As far as spindles or coils, spindles would be better because they keep the suspension geometry the same. Its just more expensive, usually. That's the only reason I can think of why someone would do the coils. That, and its easier. |
