I have a 2004 Dyramax diesel and I have a hard time getting it started at times.

It is not cold related because it will do it even after it has just been running....it will crank and crank but will not start...if I check the fuel filter it is full. If I give the truck just a sniff or either it will start and run fine.

It still could be fuel pump related. The fuel could be in your filter from when it was shut off last, but the rest of it could be draining back into the tank, and the pump would have to repressurize the lines.

Did that sound like I know what I'm talking about?
