For Fathers day, I recieved a new Craftsman shop vac. Got the vacuum from my Wife, and accessories from Daughter.

16 gallon, 265 mph detachable blower... Came with a handy little 3 gallon freebie vacuum too!

Accessories: I got an extra 7.5 length of hose (15 ft. total now), and a turbo attachment (basically a beater head for the vac)

What's your newest tool in the shed?

Mine is this router table setup:

link: http://www.rockler.com/ecom7/product_details.cfm?offerings_id=11240

Mine looks a little different, though. I made it into a cabinet base by covering the legs with some pieces of 3/4" melamine I had in the shop, with some shop-made maple mouldings for the corners to dress it up a bit. I found out that the router-lift part was not compatible with my router though, so I'll be picking up a new PC or Bosch router soon.

I'll post a pic of it later.

I also replaced the sliding glass door into my shop from the patio with a set of 6' french doors. Not really a tool, but it's handy to be able to drive the tractor into my shop to work on it (it seems it ALWAYS needs a tuneup) or carry large tools and lumber in/out as well (I can back my truck right into the shop as well).

Thanks :)

The router-lift is the best piece. It's great to be able to adjust the height in 64ths from the top, without having to fiddle with the router underneath. I had been meaning to make one for a while, but just knew I'd never get around to it. Not to mention, this one was free from the points on my Rockler card :)

My last tool purchase was a 3/8 drive torque wrench. I've has a 1/2 drive for years, but wanted something a bit more compact.

Here's the router table as it looks now. The door is being glued up, it's another piece of melamine with a 3/4" maple trim around it.

I also forgot to mention that I got this miter gauge a few weeks ago:
(yeah, I know, the pic is blurry)

This link: http://www.rockler.com/ecom7/product_details.cfm?offerings_id=11236 has better pics of it.

Got this vac/bagger setup at Home Depot recently. The tractor has been out for repair, so I finally got a chance to use it Monday evening.

Makes the lawn come out much nicer without all the clippings and stuff around, it was about 2/3 full after cutting. It will also be handy for "raking" the leaves in the fall.

Awesome, so will you use that same deck piece when doing leaves, or will it have a dedicated nozzle for leaves?

Damn, I can see all kinds of applications for that new setup.

I'll drive over the bulk of the leaves with it setup as it is now. For the ones in the flower beds and along the driveway, the hose detaches from the mower deck easily, and then it's just a big vacuum. The thing has a LOT of suction, I was surprised, considering it's an 8" diameter tube.

I'll probably weld up a handle and some sort of scoop for the end of the hose to make it easier to direct the hose around when it's not connected to the tractor.

Nice! I have the exact same unit, and it's held up real well. I also got the chest that goes on top of it (actually, I should say my wife got it for me. She went around to a few stores about 5 years ago and picked it out after comparing units from Craftsman, etc. She did a real good job comparing all the features and stuff)

Those little Honda gensets are cool as hell. Does it have 12V output as well as 120V? I've thought of picking one up. We have a whole-house generator that has a dedicated transfer panel with auto-start and all that, but I never even hooked it up at this house becuase we don't lose power. It's just sitting outside next to the A/C units (the generator has an aluminum doghouse).

Yes it does. I have a little accessory that allows you to charge your battery as well.

Homemade router table: It's used as a dedicated panel raising table. Not too frilly, real basic. I have a Craftsman 3hp, 1/2" collet router that I use just for this table. I built it after buying some panel bits that were too large for my store bought table.

Cabinet was torn out of the school during its modernization back in 1997. Contractor was using some nice 7/8" melanine that I was able to get some cutoffs of. Made the adjusting fence, wrapped it in some matching maple trim, and was sure the fence was true. All you need, right?...

Picked up a scroll saw back in March, and used it with my son to create his entry for the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby this year.

Came out pretty good, I think!

(Edited to insert pics)

It's a '40 Ford pickup, modelled after a Hot Wheels car that my son chose.

The last tool I bought was a nice big floor jack. It's paid for itself a couple of time over now.
