Let me start out by saying that I think American Idol has done more to ruin music than anything since MTV. But if you must watch that dreck, vote for Blake Lewis.
He's my brother's good friend, known as "The Human Beatbox." Dude may not be the best singer of the group, but he's got skills in a lot of vocal areas, and I just read that he made the 24. So give 'em hell, guys.

It's a two parter for me. I like watching the trainwreck that is the open auditions, then I don't care for several weeks, and like it again once it's downt o the final 8 or 10 or so. I'll watch for your pal. I don't know much about music, or the industry, so I don't know how it could have hurt music, but what little I do know is that there are now a handful of folks from the last several years who have made a big splash in the music world, that might not have without the show.

Blake is actually pretty good compared to some of the "talent" on the show. He definitely stands out with his personality and beatbox skillz. I'm glad he made it through to the "show" to add some life to the coming weeks.

We watched last night and hoped he would make it. When they had to do the 'group' thing, he really showed his stuff. I would have liked to have seen all 4 make it through. This is the first year I've watched, so it's kinda new to me.

I never really got into the show. I watched a few eps when it first premiered but I'm just not into it. I hate the fact that it bumps some of my fav shows like "House" and "Bones" weeks at a time.

Right on Mort......on a side note a few of us were at Hooters in Tacoma and who poured beer for us but one of the Seattle finalists....Shamalya (sp)....remember the Brother/Sister combo? Her Brother made it to the 24.........Oh yeah, one more thing.....She works at Hooters for a reason

I can't stand that fucking show!
But if I could stand to watch it, and wanted to waste a dollar (or whatever it is) to text message in my vote for the least-lame person of the bunch, I'd probably maybe vote for your brothers friend.

Well, he made the Final Four. I had to post this video, its acutally a pretty good rendition.
***EDIT*** After watching that video again, its amazing the energy and crowd working skills he has. Even though I don't like the show, and am only watching it because he's on, he could be successful even if he doesn't go all the way.

Shake 'n Blake!
Mort, I have to admit that this season of American Idol is the worst yet... there's nobody that I can see being the "American Idol" and the only only reason why I am watching it every week is because it's part of our family TV viewing hour ritual and the rest of my family is addicted. I'd much rather be doing something more productive, like re-arranging my sock drawer.
With that being said -- I knew early on that Blake would make it to the finals. He's the only contestant with real talent -- and by that I mean he can do more than just stand on stage and hold a mic. He's a true artist and even if he doesn't win the big prize, he'll be going places. "You give love a bad name" was really cool... I can't see anyone else on the show going out on a limb like that. He's still got my vote (ok, if I actually were to vote LOL).
This season has been really boring and I've seen better talent than most of the contestants on other goofy reality shows (Pussycat Dolls for one). The only entertainment/life this season has had has been Sanjaya and Blake.
P.S. I have to add that Paula Abdul annoys the living fuck out of me... I cringe every time she opens her mouth. She never has anything decent to contribute. They should replace her next season.

Well, Blake survived a terrible round of Barry Gibb/Bee Gee's music...Hopefully he will select some better songs next time...The guy is pretty good, I definitely think he is the best person as far as marketability
