Bummer. If you Ford F-150 owners don't yet know this - you can get into these trucks with a slotted screwdriver in about 2-seconds flat. You can do it and people nearby won't even know you're breaking in. Then, when you're inside it you can pretty much take your time.

What's really protecting your baby is a slim clip that holds the lock assembly in place against the backside of the door skin. That screwdriver shoved into the keyhole and then a firm downward push will snap that clip off and push up on the lock unlocking the door.

It happened to me, it happened to JeetYet and it can happen to you as well.

not that it matters but I think I found a cheap GPS tracking solution for a car and it works for almost anyone with a cell phone plan.

tom, what if you have a keyless door handle? Could the driver still be pressed up inside to break the handle assembly? I have keyholes.

Good Find. Here is the link to the install. I am getting this today. And while it may not be the perfect solution anything to slow them down helps. I would also think a little JB Weld on the panel prior to installing it might even make it sturdier.

Actually, its not JeetYets truck, it belongs to FTW Member King Triton.

Even without a screw driver to the lock cylinder, its frightening how easy the F-series trucks (F-150 and Super Duty both) are to slim-jim. My personal record is just long enough to stick the slim jim down the door frame and pull up, about 3 seconds. Granted, I have a bit of practice (working for a dealer, keys get locked in all the time, and I was the go-to guy), but a semi-smart theif will be gone in seconds.

Those Jimmi Jammers are the hot ticket, from what I hear. I wouldn't own another F-series truck without one, and I live in a pretty good neighborhood.

I had the Jimmi Jammers on the both the trucks because I was always expecting someone to try and break into it. Luckily, it never happened.

Well, hopefully the insurance will cover some of that. He's got plenty of photographic evidence that it contained all that stuff.

I suppose, in some ways, he's lucky. A lot of people never see their rides again.
