Ford dealer stacking rear blocks?

I was at the Ford dealer today and they have a new '07 cc F-250 FX4 with a skyjacker 6" lift.
I noticed that they just added a 6" block under the factory 2" block in the rear for a total of 8" from axle to bottom of spring.
This looks dangerious to me. Am I wrong?

Way wrong!!!!!!!! Should have gone with the 6" block and maybe an add a leaf. I am sure our suspension guys will chime up.

why not....everyone else is doing it

if it was a 6" lift though, it should have been a 4" block under a 2"....which most lift companies that ford would use does recommend.

At my old place of employment, the suspension guy did it once, under protest, because the customer wanted it that way. He wouldn't have ever done it otherwise. Its not a good idea for anybody, let alone a dealer that wants to appear reputable.

i guess all the warnings you see about stacking blocks were wrong?!?

It isnt the best method by any means. but most 4-6 inch kits will have that option as a way to save you about 500 bucks.

It's not so much the stacking that is wrong. It is the limit of height of stacked blocks you are concerned with and don't want to exceed.
