so when I use 4x4 on a flat surface, dirt, asphalt.....I get this odd toe in issue.

the tires point inwards just enough to make the truck not want to go.

315/75/16 BFG A/T's with a 6 inch Fabtech

Previously, I had 285/75's and had no issue with this....I even drove on the street with 4hi....never had a problem. Any other vehicle I have driven in 4x4 has had no issue.

Will 2 more inches of tire make that much difference?

sounds to me like a joint is worn out:

inner or outer tie rods

pitman arm

idler arm (leaning towards this one)

you need to have someone watch while you do it, pretty soon too, if its worn out this bad....its way beyond safe

Pitman arms on those trucks are pretty common. Does it make a noise when you turn, like a rusty mattress spring (reaching for a comparison, here)?

how come its an all of the sudden thing?

which one is the idler arm?

idler arm is attached to the frame on the passenger side...holds the steering "up"

in 2wd the forces of motion are pushing the wheels back...in 4wd the tires are pulling themselves forward an pushing up on the steering components.

id expect u to have these issues in 2wd too...but not as severe
