Have you seen the latest Ford Interceptor concept? Looks like a 300C to me (only with a little more power)

Nice concept vehicle. However, the production version will look more like this:

Ford needs to put that into production. That is what the Ford Five Hundred should have been. While this is a direct ripoff of the 300C it is a step in the right direction for Ford. The hood, wheels, and front end are almost identical to the 300C.

My dad gets a new company car every year, and they used to have to get grand marquis...but now he changed it so they can get any car they want in a certain price range. He was looking at 300C's, and the srt-8 in particular....but he has always been a ford guy....so if he sees this, and they put a real motor in it, there will probably be one in his driveway next year (if it comes out by then)

What's that old saying about a day late and a dollar short...?

By itself, I think its a great looking car (for the most part), but the fact that the 300C exists and its a blatant ripoff of it (roofline, rear end styling, etc.), I'm a little wary.

Well my company car is the 500 Limited and it is a nice car. However given the option of a similar sized Ford vehicle with a MUCH more powerful engine I would have done it in a second.

Sadly they rarely make a concept for production and even if they come close its not the same.

Found an interesting article about this ride:

http://www.blueovalnews.com/index.php?categoryid=12&p2_articleid=441

The guy who designed the Interceptor is from Chrysler, which makes sense why there's some 300C DNA in there. Still, the original designer of the 300C was Ralph Gilles, not this dude. Gilles is now developing the new look of trucks for DC (1) (2)

"The Interceptor is largely the work of Freeman Thomas. However, unlike his work with Chrysler, the Interceptor shows an economy of line and a unity of form that hearkens back to his work with J Mays at Audi in the late 90s."

I like what I'm seeing. But I'll eat my hat if this car makes production with the same motor as the FR500 is equipped with. And the four-point belts would never make production anytime soon.

That's okay Chris. Some folks don't embrace change as easily as others do. They'd prefer things not change much. With that thinking we'd all be driving these:

Yeah, I would be shocked if this car doesnt use the same 4.6 in the mustang. If they really grow some balls, they may throw the 5.4 in there. And we can only hope that they will use the rumored 6.2 "hurricane" or "boss" motor that they have been talking about introducing for a while.

Don't hold your breath. We all know that ford is going to put the 4.6 mustang motor. Another of FORDs bright ideas is going to take a crap.
