| I have the c340 and nounted it on my dash to the right of the steering wheel. My truck is a superduty, but its similar. I had to buy another mount for it, because I previously had a Garmin GPS V there, and it has the permanent mount swivel base. I bought the other mount for the c340 and used it to mount to my existing base. Then for use outside my truck, I still have the suction cup base and power cable. The new mount has a cable permanently attached so you could mount it in the truck.
sorry if this is confusing, I will try and find some pics

| Here is the base I bought.
I already had the small swivel part, seen here, mounted on my dash
I bought the new kit to get the piece to hole the new unit, and mount in that base. You should be able to get that small base off the large 3 wing base(its weighted with a non skid bottom) Then mound it to your dash with an adhesive
Jason
*edit That last pic isnt my truck, but it is the same base |

| i have a garmin quest mounted in the sunglass holder (headliner) of my honda accord. dremelled the plastic a little and it turned out the be quite a nifty location. this weekend will be running the wiring through the headliner, under dash, etc.
another benefit, the sunglass holder door (which the gps is mounted to) still rotates up and out of site.
that said, i think this is smaller than your street pilot. it's only 2.5x4.25 inches or something like that.
none the less - lovin it. | |

| I got a Nuvi 660 for Christmas and I have it mounted in the top left corner of the windshield..next to the A-Pillar by the top gauge and the headliner (using the windshield mounting bracket). I had to extend the adapter so I could run it cleanly all the way to the top. Since the adapter has an FM Modulator and Traffic alerts I installed a hidden cigarette adapter located in my cubby glove box powered by a key on hot...that way there is no wires visible and my external cig adapters have nothing in them and everything works through the factory stereo to include the bluetooth. The wire is run behind the dash and up the drivers side A-Pillar and accross the headliner then connected to the bottom of the windshield mount.
** If you have an FM Modulator with Traffic Alerts and decide to extend your adapter... do not cut the wire right away. Peel back the insulation and foil to expose the wires and check to make sure you don't have more than one wire that is the same color. In my case I had two Red and two Brown wires (within a bundle of 10 wires)... you want to make sure you mark them so you connect them properly after you cut the harness. You can go to any electronics shop and purchase insulated wire bundles by the foot. Then its just a matter of soldering each wire on either end. (sounds more complicated than it really is).
I'll take some installed pics tonight to show you what I am talking about. I think it looks a lot better than sitting or stuck somewhere on the dash with a wire hanging down. |

| Here is a pic of how it is mounted.

...and here is how it is plugged in. Wired in a hidden cig adapter to a key on hot in the cubby glove box which allows the FM Modulation and Traffic Alerts to work.
