for all of those non-believers out there. the new tundra will have 30 different configurations. Reg cab, double cab, crew max, short beds and long beds, 4.0L V-6 hp somwhere around 245, 4.7L V-8 hp around 305, 5.7L V-8 hp around 380. over 10,000lbs towing it is going to be the best truck on the market. quality, comfort and pure usability.

Check out the latest parts and accessories from Truck Hownd

Im sort of a american truck fan. However 380 horsepower is pretty impressive considering thats what the Lightning Stock made.

Rumor on the street is Lynn, that the 2008 F150 will have a better powerplant with more power...

Man, that sounds like an awesome platform. Looks like Toyota has their sites set the Titan and the F150. 10k lb towing capacity is not shabby at all, considering the F350 PSD is rated at only 12.5k lbs.

Man, if I had more money, I'd get one...

Personally, I think its a sharp looking truck in any guise.

And Tekky, its not a Ford color, or "hue." It does, however, have some Ford styling "cues," which I see most notably in the interior.

^^ I agree, those things are hideous!!!! Powerplant seems nice, if it lives to what they say. But I would still wait for Ford to make a new engine. They are just fugly!!!

Did anyone see the diesel dually at SEMA. I noticed a few things on it that didn't float , wondering if it even ran. I know for certain the ac controls were just dummies in it! Also wonder what the sticker price is gonna be 65,000 or better?

The story behind that is that it uses a Hino 8.0 I6 diesel, with a manual shifter. The long lever is required to get the leverage in order to grab gears. The dash is out of a Hino as well. And yes, the truck runs. To get the engine to fit, they had to move the firewall back to near the AC controls.

That's pretty badass. If I needed max towing, I'd be all over it.

Probably a different interior color, though.
