I'm coming out of my F150 and not looking to get back into one. I've been eyeing the dodge ram but a buddy of mine says he saw footage of a ram vs the new Tundra on a closed drag track. With a full load and without one, towing, full of passengers etc. he says the '07 tundra smoked the ram (5.7) every time. Anyone hearing anything about the new Tundra? sounds nasty.

I dont have any experience with the newer ones, but I worked at a toyota dealership all through highschool (up until 2002). The tundra was a damn nice truck...good power, great interior, and amazing quality. I hate to say it, but much better quality than my f-150....I can only immagine they have improved the truck greatly over the past few years trying to take a bigger chunk of the truck sales away from ford, dodge, GM and nissan.

and I have never been impressed with a dodge ram. They have a good motor, but thats about it.

if you could stomach the looks of hte toyota, then get it over the dodge, no questions asked.

the motor will be much more sophisticated, toyota doesnt fuck around with their variable timing. for example, ive raced an is300 and a gs300. the is was one of the first ones out, i wasnt sure if it had VVT, i killed it very badly. i got a BIG jump on my friend's 05 gs300 (at least as much as i did on the IS) but he ended up passing me slowly at 55 when the VVT kicked in.

toyota has much higher build quality and will last longer. the new interior also looks pretty hot, as much as i hate the outside looks.

I'd go for the Tundra - the only problem I have is that I would be seen as a traitor in my home town. I think it would be easier if i told everyone that I'm gay but I still drive a Chev.
And no I'm not gay, but I do love my pick-up.

Chevy Fan, Chevy Fan, Chevy Fan...

When I said to post your question in the Dodge forum I didn't mean for you to dredge up a 6-month old thread asking about a Toyota Tundra and post it there.

Start a new thread and ask the question. That way people will see that the thread isn't about Tundra vs Ram. Then you're more likely to get answers to your question.

For what it's worth the 4.7L Dakota gets about 14-city, 20-highway unless it's a 4WD then it only gets 18-highway with an automatic.

Dude - lighten up...

The Tundra is designed in California by Americans, built in the USA by Americans for Americans out of domestic parts. So the name has a lot of vowels and the corporate profits go off-shore - big deal.

Besides, variety is the spice of life. And what do you get out of slamming someone else's preference for something different anyway?

I'm with Tom...I mean, there is patriotism, and then there are idiots.

coiledup - I don't know who you are, but having better components doesn't necessarily make it a better ride. I can throw some 14" Brembo brakes, fully box the frame of a Chevy Citation....but would you choose that over a Toyota Camry?

Hell No!!!

Look...just because it's got the Toyota name plate all of a sudden makes it "Jap Junk"? I mean, that's down right racist...you fucking bigot.

I don't go around telling people I drive a cracker mobile...keep that racist shit off this board.

I suggest you go take an IQ test, drink a pot of coffee then maybe think about an addition to that statement. If you so much as post some more cock drool like that up there, you'll be hearing from me and my associates.

Wow dont get excited. You can drive whatever you want, its your money, I dont see what was racist in my thread, because I shortened the word japanese, if this offended you I appologise. But you dont have to threaten me. I was merely stating that these trucks arent built as well as others say they are. They arent. And no I wouldnt buy the citation cause I hate chevy worse than toyota. America builds some crap too, you mantioned one of them, the citation.

...and that's one of the reasons why I'm not driving a Ford anymore. I'm very happy with my jap junk. Even if it is designed and built in the States with American parts - by Americans.

I'm not gonna go off on ya but you gotta stop using that mentality of the 1950's. Even if you do believe you drive a superior product - that's just your own humble opinion.

I suppose the bottom line is total sales figures. Oops - who's "Junk" now?

Both if these trucks are damn good trucks. In my professional opinion i would say that toyota would b the better truck to buy, unless u buy a dodge with a manual transmission. Dodge has the best manual transmissions on the market. Also they have great performing motors, and their bodies wont rust out. So i say get a standard Dodge!
