| Welcoem aboard and congrats on the new truck! That is awesome.
Now, the tornado is junk.... don't bother at all. The TB spacer is kind of a mixed bag of nuts. I've heard some people like them and other do not, but almost universally, I have heard (even from those that like them) that there is not a real benefit to having one. You're much better served to get yourself a nice intake then exhaust.

| First off - welcome aboard!
Now, I'm only guessing here, but I think you're going to find that the majority of people here think the Tornado "Fuel Saver" is nothing more than a piece of shit designed to separate a fool from his money.
The Washington State AAA did a test that included (among other fuel saving devices) the Tornado. One vehicle was modified by a single piece of duct tape with the words "Fuel Saver" written on it. The truck with the tornado installed got worse mileage and the one with the duct tape stuck to the radiator cowl cover got better mileage. Go figure...
But to answer your question - you should be able to use both devices. The throttle body spacer connects at the throttle body (duh?) and the tornado fits further upstream. Some folks say they get a performance boost from the spacer, others say it just moves the power further up the RPM range.

| Both are crap products. Save your money and your time.
Recently I saw the President of Tornado on one of those 20/20 type shows. The interviewer kept on asking him to prove that it saves fuel... he couldn't. He just kept on stating that "our test have proven it works" but all the 3rd party tests had proven otherwise. Everyone that had tested it other than Tornado said it was a piece of shit.
I've tried the TBS in my old F-150. All it did was whistle (annoyingly). It did nothing but waste my time.
Avoid both at all costs.
P.S. Welcome to Truckblog! Aren't you glad you asked?

| Thats the advantage of being in a truck club such as this.
There isnt anything that one of us hasnt gone through so before you do anything to your truck ask about it here. This place can save you a lot of money on crap you dont need or purchasing the wrong part and putting you onto the right one.
Welcome to Truckblog..........oh and the tornado is snake oil.

| What a nerd...
You don't have to wait 1/2 hour to reset a computer. Disconnect the neg terminal then turn on the headlights (it drains any residual current) and reconnect...

| I would put an asterisk on the throttle body spacer. I have some experience with the Airaid, both on TBI (throttle body injection) engines, the Chevy 4.3 Liter, and a 4.6 liter multi-port injection engine. The TBI is basically a computer controlled carburetor: The fuel enters the intake manifold with the throttle body, not at the fuel runners, so it gets mixed with the air much sooner. The Airaid spaces it out, giving it more swirl time, as well as insulation. We put one on my best friend's 2000 S-10 Xtreme, and felt a seat-of-the-pants difference in midrange, although we never had it dyno tested. My boss has one on each of his S-10s, a 96 and a 2001, along with several other mods, and he felt quite a difference in both fuel economy and power.
By contrast, a mechanic at work put a throttle body spacer on his 4.6 liter 2000 F-150, and it didn't do anything but whistle. He took it off soon after. But the 4.6 is a multi-port injection engine, where the throttle body is very far from the runners anyway.
So it won't hurt anything, but if you're expecting a night and day difference, don't bother.

| I had the airaid throttle body spacer on my truck and I can vouch for it not doing much, other than whistle- but i personally liked the sound. I have since taken it off and i believe i still have it...if anyone wants it.
My neighbor across the street had the tornado product in his superduty and from experience riding around in his truck,etc... it didn't do anything.
