Just wanted to check in with my fellow New England members to see if anyone was adversely affected by the never ending rains.

We are pretty lucky here, since we live near the top of a fairly steep slope. We have a couple of inches of standing water in the front yard, but that is about the only place on the property fat enough to hold water.

I took a drive around the area, mostly west of here. I didn't see any signs of flooding or major damage.

How are you folks to the east fairing? I heard that the Merrimack valley in NH and lots of areas in northeastern MA were hit pretty hard. Anyone out there live in those areas?

Check out the latest parts and accessories from Truck Hownd

There would be another ark built before there was any real danger of my house getting flooded out. So, we survived no problem. The only issues I have in the rain is some of the backyard washes down the slope a bit.

Glad to hear it. I know that you are east of here and I heard some bad things were happening out that way.

I live in Hillsborough county. They call it that for a reason, I guess. My house in the 'steep slopes district' of New Ipswich.

My biggest concern was (and still is) having another one of the trees close to the house come down. As long as it doesn't get too windy, we should be OK.

One of the guys that works for me couldn't make it in on Monday. He lives right near Emerald Lake, and suddenly ended up with "waterfront" property.

I live (now), where there was bad flooding on Long Island last year. The apartment we are in was under 2 feet of water last year, it has since been re-modeled and my cousin fixed the huge crack in the foundation....

We are 2 blocks from the Great South Bay

Glad to hear that you guys in NH didn't receive any damage.

Tek & Sam are you sure you want to stay in that apartment?

Looks like the rain has finally stopped! Now they will find out the extent of all the damage. I heard about several rivers cresting over their banks and at least one dam that failed. It looks like Massachusetts got hit pretty hard.

I'm mostly glad the rain is over because I have to cut the lawn. I'll probably have a cubic yard of grass clippings at this point (literally).

I here ya'.

I just fertilized the lawn week before last.

I also have 10 yards of cedar mulch sitting in the driveway. That stuff is too heavy to move when it is soaked. Plus my lawn tractor and trailer would tear up the muddy yard.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to spend the next weekend(s) making sawdust.

Lots of flooding in the area but none in my basement, so I was happy. Now it is nice and hot!
