I made this cookbook holder as a birthday gift for my Daughter, along with the bread knife.

All of the Maple and Cherry for this project was purchased from Ebay. The 1/4" plate glass came from a local supplier (my "glass" guy).

The finish is the same as the bread knife, Formbys high gloss tung oil.

There are a couple more pictures in my gallery.

Thank you all for the comments.

Brian, don't have quite enough clamps yet, but I am getting close. I find that I use the Bessey clamps most of the time, and they ain't cheap. Five clamps for each day ending with Y? Sounds a little on the light side to me.

As for the recipe, it took longer to decide which one to use than it did to pick the camera angle (obviously).

Brandon, we will be having several barbecues this summer, I'm sure. Just let me know when you will be in the neighborhood. I already have the can of beer.

Sherri, September is a long way off, you never know..

I had some extra time this past weekend before starting a big project for the Wife, and an extra piece of 1/4" glass, so I whipped up another one of these cookbook holders. I actually get to keep this one. I also glued up this small cutting board from some leftovers scraps of maple. Sometimes it's nice to have a small cutting board to use so you don't have to lug out 'the big one'.
