I'm in the market for a remote start alarm system. Wana stay around $500 installed. Any brands to stay away from? Thanks for any input.

I have the Viper and it has been working very well but Installed it was 700 with remote start. I think it depends on how much you have hooked up.

I also have lo Jack to back it up

And if all that fails I have it insured for an agreed value insurance policy for 120,000 dollars with Grundy insurance agency. Thats the best alarm system there is.

I have the Viper 791vx now.
Works pretty well.
I just wish I would have installed it before the truck got stolen.

Yes it did, I was going back and forth on which alarm to install and never got around to installing any.
So the day after I got it back it was in the shop getting the alarm installed with a few extra goodies for the next person that thinks they want to drive my truck without me.
