I want to rewire my interior switches. I have a button for my semi- truck horn, a button for my electric fuel door, switch for my fog lights and another switch I'm adding for my Off Road lights. Right now they are all over the place. I want to locate them in one area within easy reach. I'd like to pick your brains for ideas before I start tearing wires out.
Thanks.
Christine

If you have a lower console, I'd suggest making a custom panel in the area where the junk bin is (up near the front, in front of the armrest and cupholders). Or, if you don't have a console, then making a panel and some sort of pod to put it on for that area would be good.

That's how it is on Kevin's Godzilla Expedition. Seems to work out pretty well - he has a ton of switches.

If you have an aftermarket radio you could fab a panel over the pocket and put them there.

Relocate your 12v outlets and put all the switches under that door thingy. It'll be a tight fit, depending on the size of the switches, but you wouldn't be able to see them when the door is closed.

Hiya Christine!

Another place, although it's a bit low, is the black plastic area resting on the tranny hump. I've seen quite a few people install rows of switches there.

Or...

in the overhead console...

Do you have the little cubby hole in your dash just down to the right of the steering wheel? Make a little face plate for it out of plastic, and mount your switches and buttons to that...I saw somebody did a writeup on FTW about doing this...I will try to find it for you.

I like the overhead console idea, but I'm not sure I'm up to running wires up thru my a-pillars and under my head liner.
Sawblade, what is the remote you're talking about? I have a remote for my stereo and I love it. You mean there's something for lights, etc.?
