So, what are the best truck care products out there on the market today??? Adams, Meguiar's, or what??? Also, what do you think about a high speed polisher, not a buffer? I had buffer before and it put swirls on my old truck(I probably didn't use it right). Thanks!

I still use Adam's, real good stuff, I use a orbitar polisher on mine... It's not fast and places the polish on well, then I take it off with microfiber towels...

I like Adams. I use a porter Cable with it. Works fast and I get great results from all the products. I truly believe it helps me win shows.

I use mostly Adams too. But maybe its the humidity on the East Coast but Adam's Butter wax is a bitch to use. I used it once and thats the last time.

I have to agree with Fordgirl. Adams worked much better for me when I lived in Cali. Seemed like the results lasted longer too. I still use some of the products, but also have a nice stash of Megs. I belong to their forums and get some good discounts from them.

I've used Poor Boys and like the results but I haven't used Adam's yet so I can't compare the two.

Bert if you get yourself a Porter Cable Random orbital it is pretty much impossible to screw the paint up using it. Will not burn or scratch the paint unless of course you have debris on the pads when you use it..No swirls either.
I had been a long time user of the Meguiars Professional lineup and love the results but the polishes were very hard to apply and even harder to remove so i decided after hearing about the Adams to give it a shot and I will say there is no going back for me. I*t is 10 times easier to apply and removal is even easier and the result are just as good. I will say the prep work is the key to getting show car shine. You must wash and clay the entire vehicle if it has never been done.

Ive used Adams detail spray and it works pretty good for that.
In very few cases Ive used windex but it takes the wax off too.

Yeah that is what i used all last weekend Lynn. And it did do a decent job but you could see where there were certain rings that were left in the paint. I spent most of the day cleaning bird shit off my truck.

If there are rings in the paint it might be the acid from the birds stomach. Youll need to put some revive or scratch remover to get into the paint a little to get that out.

When you leave bird poop on your painted surface for any length of time that acid will eat into the paint.

I remove any poop the second I see it.

Yeah i am going to be washing the truck tonight and taking care of that. I actually got to the bird crap with the Adams Detail spray when it was still in it's liquid form and did not have a chance to dry on at least. They must have been eating some very acidy items.

All Adams product for me as well. And I do apply several of his products with a Porter Cable, and can't imagine ever doing it without again.

You can pick up the Porter Cable at Lowes for as good of a price as you will find it anywhere.

Thats where I got mine from but the didn'thave much when it comes to accessories. Had a hard time finding additional pads for it.

The Porter Cable 7336 has been the best additon to my car care arsenal this year. Got it at Lowes ($109), and like was said they suck at carrying accessories.

I ended up getting a velcro pad, and two Lake County pads (white polishing, and red finishing) through www.properautocare.com (Site is full of detailing tips as well)

As far as product?... I have/use a hodgepodge of stuff.

Love the Poorboys line for rubber/vinyl care, and polishing product.

Meguiars for interior vinyl care

Adams for topcoats

Armorall for glass

Stoners for vinyl cleaning, glass, and tire treatment

I can tell you all that I was a firm believer in the P/C until mine went bad after 1 year. I went to Home Depot and bought this:
http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/R2610/

Remove the sanding bag and the Rigid puts the P/C to shame. It feels like a professional piece of equipment. Even Adam was impressed.

I had my P/C rebuilt by a factory authorized dealer and it cost me 65.00, so if anyone wants a rebuilt P/C it's yours for 65.00 + shp.
