| Here is what you do.
You take all your dash out in pieces.
You can put a thin coat of foam first but depending on how close the pieces come together you may not have room to put the pieces back together. If there is a little space then put the foam on first and you can sand the foam down where the pieces come together.
You use a spray adhesive that upholstery shops use. You spray both sides then wrap the pieces one at a time.
Then take your Suede and do the same thing over the foam. Thats how my headliner was done.
You can just wrap the pieces in Suede without foam.
When I see them spray the adhesive on they let it dry a little first before wrapping the piece. That way you can work with it.

| | The one they use in Upholstery shops has the quality that you can take the material up and put down several times so you can work the wrinkles out. Not sure if you can do that with canned adhesive. | |

| Cool, I'll have to drop by the paint shop and see what kind of adhesive they have to load my gun with.
I'm thinking 5 yards of suede will be plenty to do the all of the unpainted parts of my dash. Am I thinking right?

| dont use the 3m stuff, it wont hold up with the heat inside of your truck...My truck is all suede from the bottom of the windows up, and it is starting to pull away a little on the concave parts.
Also, dont use the cheap faux suede...it fades pretty easy (mine was something like $20 per yard, but its junk for quality). Im going to be re-doing all my interior sooner or later because the black is starting to turn grey where the sun hits it alot. Everything will be smoothed and painted from the windows up next, and im putting the lightning door pannels on to match the lightning arm rests that I have now.
If you want it to look good for a while, go to an upholstery shop and order the auto grade quality stuff...Blake from FTW did this on his truck, and it came out alot better than mine.
Hot glue works great to attatch it to the back of the parts, mine is holding up great there...Leave about an inch (or more) of material to pull around and glue...do about 2" at a time so the glue doesnt cool down before you have a chance to pull it tight and wrap around. The corners are the fun part..its hard to get at first, but after you do a few parts, you will get the hang of how to fold it over and make it look smooth.
Greez was right about the glue, use the upholstery shop stuff, and spray the back side of the suede, and the part you are covering....let it tack up for about a minute and start to lay it on...dont slap the whole piece on at once, because it will look like hell with all the wrinkles, just do a little at a time.

| Hey, anybody know of a place online that sells the automotive grade fake suede? I've tried local shops for other things, and they're all trying to rip me off. I went around asking for prices on getting my stock seat cover trimmed down after I chop the split bench into a bucket, and the lowest quote I got was $100. | |

| Nemesis interior is fantastic like the rest of the truck.
100 is cheap.
I spent 80 just for the suede material for my headliner. | |

| I know the material is going to be expensive, but I figured $100 was expensive when the job didn't need any new material. Also, I got $30 ideas in my head from 02Mountaineer getting the exact same job done for that much. |

| I've had my alcantara suede headliner and pillars for about 9 months. That stuff is FANTASTIC. Do some searching for alcantara and if you can find it at the right price, I'd highly recommend it.
