We're starting to plan out the master bath remodeling...

Already got 300sqft of imported marble tile (which almost blew out my rear suspension when I had the whole pallet set in the bed of my truck!)

I also bought this bathtub:
http://www.tubz.com/infinity_i.htm

(but I only paid a little more than 1/2 of the price they list).

I need to get some good "before" pics before we start tearing things out... Wish I had the 10mm lens Greez has ;)

Awesome!!! And Brian..... coincidentally, I did blow the rear OEM air in my old expedition the day after I had about 200 square feet of tile. I can't help but think that the load was why it blew.

Great looking tub too!!! Keep us updated with progress shots!

Yeah, the tub was my idea, but it didn't take much persuasion to get her to agree to it :)

Yeah, pretty much the entire bathroom is being gutted. New cabinets, making some plumbing changes, towel warmers, etc. The 2-person shower is also going to be all marble tile inside, doing the ceiling of the shower is a bitch, I learned that from remodeling the guest bath:

Cool looking tub. If you don't already have a 75 gal water heater, you'll need one, or as long as you have your bathroom torn up, one of the point of use heaters work well too. Looking forward to the during and after pictures!

Agree with the comment about the larger HW heater or the point of use heater. Friends that have added tubs like the one you chose, but, didn't upgrade their HW Heater were less than thrilled.

Looking forward to the before/after pictures.

It's a 60 gal oil-fired rapid-recovery heater. It usually keeps the water at 140F, then there is a mix-valve to temper the water output to 130ish or so. So, I *think* it will be okay, but now you have me concerned...

I might have to look into one of those point-of-use heaters, or add an aux storage tank. The heater is 3 months old, and cost $800 (fucking oil-fired water heaters are expensive!), so I'd rather not replace it already :)

Oil Fired heaters are very expensive. A full tank of a 60 gal heater should keep up. The problem you might run into is if someone else is using hot water while you are filling the tub. I think if it was mine, I'd try and use what you have, but make provisions to install the point of use heater while your walls are open.
