Can anyone tell me what the hell the difference is between HD radio and like Satelite radio?
I am looking at new head units, and am curious. Also i hear alot the local NY stations saying they are broadcasting in HD radio, so i am just wondering what the pro's and con's are...
Thanks

HD radio is free if you have tuner for it. It's digital, so they can broadcast multiple channels over one band, and they're claiming near-cd quality for FM and near FM quality for AM. I'll probably buy a tuner when sony makes one available for the unilink capable receivers.

IMO, HD radio is terrestial radio's too-late effort to attempt to match satellite. I'm not spending $400 for an add-on tuner just so I can hear the stupid DJ and commercials with better quality.
