As we all know the world has gone to shit and gas prices continue to screw us over. But regardless of all that, let's take a gander at what everyone is doing.

What's everyone been up to?

The home improvement business is good as most people are fixing things up instead of buying......which is right up our alley.

Staying close to home this summer, trying to keep the cost down. Looking to buy another pontoon soon as we live right by a lake.

Nothin' too crazy right now.

Work has me pretty busy, so I haven't had a chance to post here as often as I would like.

Still doing the sled pulling thing...been breaking parts like you wouldn't believe, and paying for them too.

Just broke two different axle shafts at two different events:

Dana 80 out of a DRW Superduty, ARB Air Locker, 40" tires, and 650 HP causes a lot of carnage.

After this season, thoughts are to detune it (smaller injector, smaller turbo), maybe run some 38's, and be happy with my monster truck.

Work is calling for a two week furlough, so I figure I'd take the mileage I banked traveling for work to go to Shanghai and Tokyo for a week each...that's going to happen at the end of July.

Work is slow, but in a family business, we figure out how to get by. Still working for my folks publishing company (we publish a trade magazine for engineers seeking contract employment). Daughters are great-- one just finished 1st grade and the other will go to kindergarten in the Fall. Wife is still staying at home with them, but is hoping to find something to do part time next year when the girls are both in school. We're doing a lot of (trailer) camping this summer, and the whole family is really enjoying that.

Oh yeah-- I'm 36 and just got braces.

Pluggin along in life. Daughter graduated High School and will be attending Community College soon and playing Volleyball for them.

Oh and waiting for the SHTF since it seems things are headed that way.

Damn. That's a lot of folks out of work or facing layoffs. I was out of work (again) from the end of January until the beginning of June. Not sure how long this gig will last since it's project-based.

Both myself and my wife are out of employment right now. We are really looking, not much where we are. So we are really considering moving. not much else, to busy worrying where the money is going to come from to pay the bills.

I've been working on launching another company. This one is intelligent security cameras. Lots of fun actually, and I've gotten to go into many interesting places (Federal Reserve Bank vaults, Airport security towers, various Caribbean banks and police stations, municipal water facilities where they store millions of gallons of drinking water, and so on).

Work is keeping me very busy.

Dealing with idiots who can't or won't do their jobs or follow procedures.

Still working on the house and the FJ as time permits.

Well…

I'm still working in Clinical Ops for a phase one pharmaceutical research company, it keeps me pretty busy. After the economy turns up I am going to try to find something where I can work from home.

I moved over to Gig Harbor with my boyfriend last fall and I'm still trying to get used to all the yuppies driving their Maseratis and that damn toll. I can't wait to get back to my 'hood', which is where we plan on buying a house next year.

Other than that I fill my weekends with photography, camping, riding my quad, and spending time with family.

Scott - Layla is such a doll... I love those pigtails!

*deep breath*

Laid off in March from mixer driving, got a call back a week later to work in the Quality Control department. Doesn't pay as much, and I'm not in love with it, but I'm getting better at it, and its steady work.

In the past year Layla has gone from this:

In the time I was out of work, we got a deck built (well, I did while Leanna was pestered by the children), a driveway graveled, and I organized my shed twice.

Good idea on this topic, always fun to catch with others and see how they are doing.

I am working for a oil/gas company (FMC Technologies), been here for a year now. My son is 2 1/2 so that is fun with the terrible twos and all, lol. I am always building or working on something at home though, current project is still my radio wagon (doing a custom 4" suspension lift with bigger tires). Going to the Dominican Republic for my 5 year anniversary with my wife on July 9-14. I guess that is about it for now.

Work, work, work.

After being very slow for a looong time, one of my clients decided to start a very large inventory management project. I have almost 300 hours into this project so far, trying to get everything ready to go live for the end of July.

After that we are finally moving this software off of their ancient IBM RS-6000 system running AIX and on to a brand new Windows server. Should be another good sized project doing that conversion.

Work, bankruptcy is settled. Working 50-60 hours a week, about to settle with former employer over EEOC case, considering another truck in the near future. I miss the mustang, but I got my eyes on a 2011 next summer folks!

I am just tearing up landscaping in peoples backyards, and getting paid for it.
Also getting the cellar ready for 18 more yards of concrete.

Not much, just having twins, managing a growing job role, and keeping up with emotional relations between a just not pregnant wife and mother nad mother in law, both lending aid to watch my 2 year old son. Every other day, I sleep a little. Thank God for Bud Light and golf.

I'm working for King County for a spell. They're moving their data center from a downtown high-rise to a data center a few miles away. Funny thing is that I'm working for/with a member here 'Gentleman Jack'.

And gas prices don't bother me directly. I just pay my $3.00 and get on the bus to Seattle, $3.00 to get home again. Not bad - $6.00 for two naps.
