| | Hummer Sale Brakes Ahead, Enviornmental Factor Questioned
The Hummer saga just took a bizarre turn once again with the Chinese National Radio stating that Tengzhong, the company behind purchasing Hummer, released a statement regarding Hummer and environmental concerns. The National Development and Reform Comission and Ministry of Commerce need to approve the sale of Hummer and approve its environmental effects. Tengzhong are still working on a deal stating there's no "definitive agreement" yet.
Since when did China care about emissions and the environment?

| | | How To Build the Ford H150, an F-150 Converted Into a H1 Hummer
An automotive enthusiast from Montreal, Quebec took his old 1987 Ford F-150 4x4 and 1991 E250 van, and converted it into the "H150", a hybrid F-150 Hummer H1 off-roading machine. Using only common tools which include a 110 volt Lincoln Welder, two 4.5 inch grinders, home made bender, and air tools, the owner has roughly $15,000 cash into the project. That is minuscule in comparison to the $100,000 dollar plus price tag for a "new" Hummer H1. All the metal work was also done by himself. A project like this is a little too large for the MOTORZ garage but definitely proves itself to be one cool build up. Check out the buildup inside.Full Story...

| Hummer Ends Off Road Racing Sponsorships
Hummer have announced today they will end their sponsorship with Rod Hall Racing who have participated in many off-road races such as the Baja 1,000 and SCORE races. The team raced in the stock full and stock mini classes and even brought home numerous race championships including victories with the "stock" trucks. Now the race team are selling their H1 and H2 SUT trucks due to the sponsorship termination and market conditions. General Motors are still trying to sell the weakened Hummer brand and haven't had much success doing so.

| AM General Not Parterning With Changfeng Motor Company to Purchase Hummer
After bringing the news to you on Tuesday that AM General was interested in partnering with Chinese company, Changfeng Motor Company, an Indiana news television station has confirmed the reports are not true. A spokesperson from AM General told the station that "reports of a deal with a Chinese company for the Hummer brand are not true" and continued with "there is no such agreement and talks are not ongoing with their company". The original source, Motor Trend and Beijing newspaper Jinghua, have not commented about their reports.

| 2009 Hummer H3T Alpha vs 2009 Nissan GTR Road Race
Ezra Dyer of Automobile Magazine came up with the idea of placing a 2009 Hummer H3T Alpha and 2009 Nissan GTR head to head in a race around (and through) the Colorado Rockies. The race took place from Telluride to Lake City, Colorado on a 166 mile course for the Nissan GTR and a 50 mile race for the Hummer H3T Alpha, where 14,000 foot mountain peaks tested the performance levels of each vehicle. Ezra wanted to see whether or not a performance car traveling an average of 50 miles per hour on a longer course could beat an off road truck traveling an average of 15 miles per hour on a shorter course. You'll have to head on over to their site to find the answer of who won...we'll just say the Nissan isn't as environmentally friendly.

| | AM General Joins Changfeng in Joint Partnership to Purchase Hummer Brand
It looks like General Motors' Hummer brand may finally be bought out after all from AM General and Changfeng in a joint partnership. AM General is the company that created the original United States military HMMWV Humvee back in 1983 and has recently shown interest in buying back the Hummer brand. Changfeng, a China based automotive manufacturer responded with the comment "We never quit talks on acquiring the brand...but now instead of doing it alone, we decide to form partnership with AM General to reduce risk as the global economy falters. We have to always adjust our plan to market conditions".

| | Friday Beerblog: Pathetic Products We Hope To Not See At SEMA 2008
As we pre-game for the 2008 SEMA Show and wait for all of the new and cool products that debut next week (that we will be feverishly blogging, hint, hint), there are always a handful of products that remind us of what we definitely should not do to our pickup trucks like...Brake Nutz, Wagon wheels, Truck Antlers, SweetSkinz, Truckshade, InstaSunroof, Antennae Pole Dancers, or Gas powered blenders.
An addition to these products is a pair of machine guns (they're fake...that's what she said) mounted to the hood of a Hummer H2. Pimped out and chromed to match the rest of the SUV, this lame ugly H2 is full of aftermarket parts you just don't add to a truck. Look for yourself.Full Story...
