| General Motors To Increase Pickup Truck and SUV Production in March
General Motors have made the executive decision to begin increasing their pickup truck production for the week of March 16 at two plants nationwide. None of the plants have been active since before the end of December and those being activated are Flint, Michigan, Arlington, Texas. Both were producing the Silverado pickup truck, and Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade SUV's. The reasoning for increasing production is that company believes they will receive a "stronger demand during the spring" and that "inventory is way down", noting they are down to a 90 day supply of vehicles.

GM Inside News are reporting that a source from within the General Motors Global Product board has stated the next generation Chevrolet Suburban and Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicles will move to their updated Lambda platform. Speculation between the decision is believed to be linked to CAFE standards and to move production to "lighter unibody vehicles". The current Lambda structure utilizes a front wheel drive architecture, which would greatly effect the towing capabilities of the current Suburban. Their source also concluded that GM will not touch their pickup truck line.

| Supercharging the Escalade
Paxton Automotive recently announced the introduction of their high output supercharging system with an air/water charge cooler for the 2003 6.0-liter Cadillac Escalade and Escalade EXT. The addition of their new Novi 1200 supercharger with charge cooler will increase the power in these trucks (yeah, their still trucks even if they are fancy) by 120 horsepower at 7 to 8 psig at the flywheel.
All the components needed to bolt the system onto a stock vehicle are included in the kit, such as mounting plates, fuel system upgrades (including a high-flow fuel pump, replacement injectors and fuel management unit), supercharger oil feed and drain lines, hand-held programmer, molded air inlet ducting featuring a Paxton logo, necessary nuts and bolts, tool for modifying the oil pan and compressor bypass valve.
The system will be available in a polished finish for a retail price around $5,500 and we suggest that if you already spent that much on a truck, you might as well throw in another 5K for some power.
Check out Paxton.
