The following how-to article highlights the steps required for the proper installation of the cat back exhaust.

You can view our first episode via our home page in the top left corner, or by going to our videos page located here, and clicking the Truckblog TV tab.
Are you feeling the Friday Beerblog love yet? This new one was found on Gizmodo, where the latest way to lift your automobile is by hooking up a lift jack balloon to your vehicle's exhaust, using the expelled gas to inflate the bag, thus lifting the car. Is this thing not dumb-ass proof or what? Anyone in their right mind who would get near this inflated hazard, is asking for it, even if the claims are "it's strong enough to lift a three-ton vehicle 18 inches for up to 45 minutes". Videos inside.

MBRPinc has produced the perfect way to enhance the appearance of your stock 6.4L Ford Super Duty exhaust tip – mirror-polished T304 stainless steel tip covers. “Traditional tips are not compatible with the new emissions control systems found on the ‘08 Super Duty because of the massive amounts of heat they generate, especially during regeneration mode when the trapped soot is burned and converted to ash”, said Marc Cloutier, National Sales Manager, MBRPinc.

Providing the ability to carry large payloads - be it passengers or gear - has always kept the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon popular with drivers. But that extra space often means extra fuel consumption. To improve the SUVs' miles-per-gallon rates, many of the 2007 models are outfitted with Active Fuel Management (AFM) cylinder deactivation-equipped engines, and only CORSA(r) Performance high-performance exhaust systems, designed specifically for this line of General Motors vehicles, are capable of maintaining a "tuned" sound, regardless if the vehicle is in four- or eight-cylinder mode.
Combine its rugged handle-anything design with a powerful 6.0L Vortec V8 engine, and there's little wonder the 2007 Hummer H2 maintains it status as one of the highest profile vehicles on the road today. Not much can add to this popular SUV's well-established performance, unless you're talking about an aftermarket exhaust system from CORSA Performance.

One of the most common questions asked today is, "what exhaust should I put on my truck?" For us, the answer is simple "MBRP Inc Performance Exhaust". The MBRP Pro-Series was the exhaust of choice for Project "JAKD"…A T-304 Stainless Steel 4" Turbo Back exhaust with a mirror polished Stainless Steel Dual Wall Angled 6" Tip. T-304 stainless steel is the industry's premium material for exhaust use. It will not rust, discolor or deteriorate over time. We wanted an exhaust that would remain show quality for the life of the truck. The quality of the stainless steel wasn't the only determining factor in choosing our exhaust. – Bear Hunter

Well now Corsa offers owners of several other vehicles the option to add this highly respected and quality aftermarket exhaust to their vehicles as well!

Anyone who frequents car shows or the track knows that Corsa means business when it comes to exhausts. These exhausts sound mean, and are of the highest quality - a perfect match for any true enthusiast.

Corsa Performance has announced a new exhaust kit for the all new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, featuring a 6.1L version of the standard 5.7L HEMI V8 engine. Corsa states that cold flow increases 17% over the stock exhaust, increasing horsepower, torque, and fuel economy. This new kit eliminates any resonance and drone found in competing performance exhaust systems to allow the sport utility vehicle to be whisper quiet inside the cabin at highway speeds. And while it cancels out the bad sounds, it also emphasizes the good, creating a robust, aggressive tone outside.
E3 is developing a spark plug for automotive and powersport applications that greatly reduces toxic emissions of NOx, and CO while improving fuel efficiency. E3’s ability to provide a more complete combustion of the air/fuel mixture in the cylinder provides a 15% reduction of toxic emissions in small engines and an improvement of fuel economy of 3-13% depending on engine class. Over a 50-hour time span, HC is reduced in small engines by 42%, and CO by 59% as compared to other major brands. With millions of motors around the world, simply changing spark plugs can have a significant impact.

The latest craze with the full-sized heavy duty truck crowd is bolting on the latest power modifier and trying to squeeze a couple more horses from their late model diesel engines. A bolt on here, a computer tweak here, and you have the makings of a tire shredding, pavement pounding monster.
This one was just way too nutty to wait for the Friday Beerblog I normally crank out. Last week we brought you pigs for your hitch and this week we bring you the "Hello Kitty" exhaust tip (full pic). Which of course begs the question, Why!?! I can only hope that some crazed aftermarket manufacturer will see this, take note, and bring us the Chevy bow tie, the Ford blue oval, and the Dodge Ram exhaust tips. Sadly, the Chevy bow tie exhaust tip already does exist! [Boing Boing]
Why, oh, why, can't people just leave their bad ideas on the bar napkin? Clearly this is one of them. Introducing spinners... for your tailpipe. "The spinner will rotate in the exhaust stream. At high engine speeds the spring-loaded spinner is also pushed out of the exhaust tip, giving a visual indication of the revving engine." Certainly a performance degrading product, and who's looking at your tailpipe to determine that your vehicle is moving?
What's the best way to turn your big rig into a real big rig? Add some stacks! Bring that rumble a bit higher, and show off your own plume (especially in cold weather).
