| |  U.S. Pickup Truck Sales Suck, Hyundai Rejects New Truck Plan
Since the United States pickup truck market has been in the toilet due to high fuel prices and lack of consumer interest, Hyundai Motor Company has called off their own plans of producing several mid size pickup trucks at their Georgia manufacturing plant. Hyundai have decided to continue producing passenger vehicles instead, steering clear of "turmoil in the truck business in the U.S. Sales of pickups and large sport-utility vehicles". No further details have been released about the pickup truck or Hyundai Motor Company. Reported by Wall Street Journal.

According to Inside Line, "Hyundai Motor took a step closer toward producing a pickup truck for the U.S. market, with the announcement on Tuesday that it was considering such a vehicle following a trade deal with the U.S. But the timeline for such a vehicle in the Hyundai lineup remains vague and could be years away."

|  Hyundai Unveils Veracruz Luxury SUV
Detroit News reports "Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's largest automaker, introduced the Veracruz sport utility vehicle Thursday as it aims to win more sales in the United States by adding premium models. The automaker plans to sell 50,000 Veracruz SUVs in the United States a year, half its overall sales target, the Seoul-based company said in an e-mailed statement. The SUV, which has a 3.0 liter diesel engine will cost $33,000." Asian hotties not included.

|  Seven SUVs Earn Top Scores in Crash Tests
"Seven sport utility vehicles earned the government’s highest ratings in providing protection in front-end and side crashes. The 2006 models of the Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Tucson, Mercedes Benz ML-class, Nissan Murano and Subaru B9 Tribeca received five stars in frontal and side impact crash tests for both the driver’s and passenger's side," MSNBC reports.
