The SEMA show is always an exciting place to walk around, first because there are literally thousands of great vehicles, but also because of the celebrities who frequent this mecca of car shows. Normally, Truckblog wouldn't dedicate a post to something that isn't related in some way to the auto industry - but let's face facts, this is notable to a fairly wide audience.
We ran across a guest today that none of us saw on the celebrity guest roster - tattoo artist Kat Von D - starlet of TLC's LA Ink.
Von D is one of the hottest names in the tattoo industry, and it just goes to show that you never know who you may run into here at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. – MichaelS

This past Sunday at Ford's truck owner appreciation day, the event was followed by a free Toby Keith concert for local San Antonio Ford truck owners. Prior to the concert I attended a press conference held by Toby Keith and Ford strategic marketing manager, Mark Grueber. Here is video of the press conference in its entirety.
If you are in San Antonio this Sunday, and you are a Ford truck owner, stop by the AT&T Center to be appreciated by the Ford Motor Company for their Ford truck owner appreciation day and concert. Not only will country superstar Toby Keith put on a concert for Ford truck owners (which is free to those who received an invitation by mail), but Ford will have other events going on throughout the day, including a preview of the upcoming 2008 Ford Super Duty truck.
We're lucky enough to have been invited to the event, so we're flying out to San Antonio to cover it for Truckblog! Expect photos and a video next week!
Country superstar Toby Keith returned to the small screen recently with a new series of Ford Truck ads. Part of Ford Trucks’ fall advertising blitz, the new ads debut the new Keith original song “Working Man” that honors the spirit of American workers.
Ford is kicking off unprecedented fall advertising for 2007 F-Series trucks this week marking the opening of the official NFL season, the final race before the NASCAR “Chase for the Cup” and Toby Keith’s new concert tour and big-screen debut. Ford’s relationship with Keith takes center stage tonight as Ford Trucks present the Hollywood entertainer’s premiere of Paramount Classics’, CMT Films’ motion picture, Broken Bridges, alongside co-stars Kelly Preston, Willie Nelson, Burt Reynolds and Lindsey Haun.
Two bold, all-American legends will team up again as “Built Ford Tough” trucks hook up onstage with one of Hollywood’s top entertainers. F-Series will present superstar Toby Keith’s much-anticipated “Hookin’ Up and Hangin’ Out Tour” in the United States which began August 11 in Cleveland, with 60 tour dates planned.
Keith will again headline national and regional Ford Truck ads that will bow this fall. And Ford is also working with the singer-songwriter, actor and entertainer on his newest venture co-starring with Kelly Preston in the Paramount Classics and CMT Films release, Broken Bridges, that hits theaters Sept. 8.
Because one celebrity truck mentioned for sale at Truckblog in one day is never enough, you can now also bid to be the proud owner of the Larry Mobile, a blue 1997 Chevy half-ton, used in the new movie, Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector. With just five hours left, this auction is a penny over ten grand. Unlike the Brokeback truck that is also up for grabs on eBay, the proceeds from Larry's truck goes to a charity, not the producers.
Admittedly, we have not seen the heavily awarded blockbuster, "Brokeback Mountain", but we did find one of its characters for sale at eBay Motors. The auction says, "This authentic 1950 GMC half-ton pickup used in the Academy Award winning movie "Brokeback Mountain. This flat black truck was featured in the beginning of the movie driven by character Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal). This truck was purchased from High Meadow Productions who were in charge of the transportation for the movie. The interior of the truck is in excellent condition as it had been restored for the movie. It has a brown leather bench seat with black dash. It is a 3-speed manual transmission with a push-button start and 235 ci engine. This vehicle is a rare collectors' item for movie and automobile enthusiast alike. This vehicle has been safetied and is completely ready to drive down the road." At the time of this post, there bids were up to $15,150 with 2-1/2 days remaining.
"With Oscar night fast approaching, many at Ford are rooting for "Crash" to win best picture because the acclaimed film features a Lincoln Navigator in a prominent role. In the movie about racial tension in Los Angeles a black couple is pulled over and harassed by a racist cop. The Navigator is prominent in several other scenes later in the movie. Ford, predictably, says the casting of the Navigator was inspired," The Detroit News reports.

This past Saturday, "Monster Garage" star Jesse James signed up for his next challenging project: Project Sandra Bullock. He's got 5 days to turn Sandra Bullock into a housewife, complete with a diamond plate cooking apron, 10-inch steel heels, and a bullet-proof carbon fiber bustier. The wedding to Bullock, 7 years his senior, went off without a hitch as James drove to his wedding in one of his red monster pickup trucks.

The Chicago Tribune reports, "Toby Keith loves patriotism, drinking, spunky women and Ford trucks... ...The glorified commercial provided a segue for Keith's entrance, amid bursts of flames, fireworks and -- what else -- a Ford pickup pretend-crashing through the back of the stage, its headlights shining and oval emblem gleaming for everyone to see."
And now a little somethin' for the ladies. According to AP, Tyson Beckford (a model for Ralph Lauren Polo and one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People") decided to "ram" his 2004 Dodge Ram truck into a utility pole yesterday, around 5 AM.
Just before the truck was completely engulfed in flames, Beckford, 34, escaped. He was then taken to the local medical center and was treated for head trauma and cuts, and released that afternoon. We just thought you might want to know.
