| 2008 Toyota TRD Supercharged Tundra Pickup Truck
Edmunds Inside Line were lucky enough to get their hands on a 2008 Toyota TRD Supercharged Tundra pickup truck and see what it can do. With 22 inch wheels stock, 16 inch big brakes and 504 horsepower & 550 foot pounds of torque under the hood, the TRD supercharged Tundra is one to compare with the Ford Lightning...some may say. You'll have to head on over to their website to read their review and check out their video feature of the new pickup truck.

Success in the work place can sometimes be hard to achieve, especially if you are not a straight shooter with your boss. Bob Slydell of "Office Space" tells us how you can become part of the "upper management" if you are like Peter Gibbons, "I'd like to move us right along to a Peter Gibbons. Now we had a chance to meet this young man, and boy that's just a straight shooter with upper management written all over him". So the question of the morning is, "are you a straight shooter with upper management written all over yourself"?
One thing is for sure, success in the work place can definitely be achieved by checking out our blogs from last week- I guarantee it. Oh by the way, did you get the memo that Truckblog.TV is now called MOTORZ?

Not to be confused with pop singer "Fergalicious", Dynolicious is the very first automotive performance meter utilizing the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod Touch. Using the Apple patented accelerometer, the phone itself measures the performance characteristics of your vehicle without the need of external wires or equipment. Dynolicious can measure your 0 to 60 acceleration time, 1/4 mile elapsed time, lateral G forces, and horsepower figures. The program maintains a history of your test runs and gives you the ability to view averages as well as the results themselves. You can get Dynolicious at the Apple Store on iTunes for $12.99.

First and foremost, we at Truckblog hope you all had a great holiday weekend and are now back online to stay logged to the blog!
When you entered the "pit of doom" this morning, also known as your office, cubical or workplace, did you experience an annoying electromagnetic shock from the metal door handle just like Peter Gibbons endured in "Office Space"? If that is the case, well that sucks for you. Maybe you need to not shuffle your feet as much on the carpet. But getting zapped by the door handle is not nearly as bad as the $9 million dollars that was awarded to American Axle's CEO last week or the new laws that ban cell phone usage while driving in California and Washington or the fact that I had to compose a list of 15 hypermiling tricks for your pickup truck to help you save gas because the price of fuel is too high to make ends meet. To solve that problem, check out the MyGallons gas card along with the slew of other blogs from last week.

Set up as a twin screw roots-type unit at a boost pressure of 8.5 pounds per square inch, the TRD supercharger cranks out 504 horse power and 550 foot pounds of torque, up from the stock 381 horse power and 401 foot pounds of torque. Toyota is backing their TRD supercharger with a 12 month, unlimited mileage warranty, or remaining balance of the factory 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. The new unit will set you back a hefty $5,875.

| | | Get Stuck In Bumper To Bumper Traffic?
Did you get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic this morning like Peter Gibbons does in "Office Space"? You slide on over to the fast lane just in the nick of time for it to slow down and the lane you were in then speeds ahead. This stop and go traffic completely destroys the fuel efficiency of your vehicle, causing you to get worse gas mileage. Our top blog from last week, Fuel Saving Tips Revisited, Save Dollars And Cents Using These Techniques, can be used as a guide to help your vehicle become more fuel efficient and save you money at the pump. And while you are scrolling, take some time to check out our other top articles from last week. We all know how many minutes of actual work are done anyway, right?.

| | 2008 Ford F-150 Foose Edition Reviewed, Excuse To Blow Away Gas At $5 Per Gallon
Edmunds Inside Line were able to get their hands on a 2008 Foose Edition Ford F-150 and pushed the truck to its limits, while blowing away tanks of gasoline at $5 dollars per gallon (practically). Their review even includes a short video of the carnage but with a vehicle price tag of over $55,000 dollars, I don't know of too many customers that are in the market for a 450 horsepower Roush supercharged pickup truck. None the least, the video is definitely fun to watch and makes us gear heads shout out our "Tim Allen" grunts "Ogh, ogh, ogh".

| How Many Minutes Of Actual Work Do You Do?More in: Roundup, Diesel, Dodge, Engine, Exhaust, Ford, Fuel, General Motors, Hybrid, New Products, Nissan, Project JAKD, SUV, Toyota | Comments | Permalink | 82,855 Views
The question this morning is the same that was asked of Peter Gibbons by the Bob twins in "Office Space". "We're trying to get a feel for how people spend their day at work...so, if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you?". Peter then responds "Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work". Given you are reading this blog right now and happen to not be working at the moment, go ahead and check out our blogs from last week. Then during that hour after lunch ask yourself, how many minutes of actual work do I do?

In research conducted by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (also known as "SEMA"), even after a 32% drop in new-pickup truck sales last month, SEMA found a one percent increase in automotive enthusiasts' demand for customizing their pickup trucks. This just means that owners are keeping their trucks longer due to the increase in price for new pickup trucks, as well as fuel costs. More importantly, the light-truck segment of the automotive market has been on the rise for several years, accounting for 42.3 percent of manufacturer sales in 2007 alone. Maybe there really is light at the end of the tunnel?

| | | | | | | 2009 Harley-Davidson Edition Ford F-450 Looks Cool, Right Timing?
Mike Levine was able to get hold of a spy shot of the 2009 Ford F-450 Harley Davidson Edition pickup truck, complete with blue tribal flames under the paint. Sold at the $60,000 dollar mark, you'll get a chromed grille, custom Harley fender vents, Harley-Davidson cargo box sides, custom emblem for the tail gate, Harley-Davidson wheels, and of course the legendary black Harley-Davidson leather. The new truck is definitely the best yet that Ford has debuted, but I don't know of anyone right now that is in the market for an 8,000 pound truck that pulls off a fuel efficiency rating of 12 miles per gallon. Is this the right timing Ford?Full Story...

| | | | 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 CRD Diesel Powered SUV
Edmund's Inside Line have posted their thorough review of the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 CRD SUV. Earning an average of 19.3 miles per gallon, the new diesel powered Jeep Grand Cherokee serves as a perfect replacement for it's V8 SRT8 cousin, which only boasts a hefty 13.4 miles per gallon. Another advantage of the new 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee's diesel engine is it's price, at only $1,655 which is far cheaper than it's full size heavy duty pickup truck brothers. The bottom line of the new Cherokee is that it provides an "Affordable diesel option [that] makes the Grand Cherokee a far more practical proposition". Click here to read their review.

In efforts to protest gasoline and diesel fuel prices, a sign painter in Kentucky has hung up his paint brushes, and traded in his pickup truck for a new model horse. I don't know how he could possibly be saving money though, as the cost of oats for a horse are higher than the price of gas, at $84.61 for a 50 pound bag, according to Simply Natural. | | | Friday Beerblog: K&M Supercharger Spotted In The Wild
Earlier this year, YouTube's nottasrt4 spotted a Nissan 350Z with a "modified K&M Supercharger" in the wild. With camcorder in hand, he recorded a mini-documentary of what he saw. Upon catching up with the youthful driver of the 350Z a second time at a stop light, nottasrt4 rolled his window down and got an exclusive interview with the driver, revealing the true power of this sweet ride with 422 HP at the rear wheels. The driver claims his K&M blower runs at 14 PSI, his chipped 3.5L has stainless-steel twin cold air intakes, and rocks a stock exhaust which actually gets "better horsepower with the stock". The videos have to be seen to be believed. [via Muscle Car Blog]

Mike Levine over at Pickuptruck has been busy once again, this time posting a review of the new Hummer H3T pickup truck. Did the H3T's 5.3 liter V8 engine leave a big enough foot print out on the trails, where true Hummers are tested? Check out the results so far, via this link.
Giving props to DiamondBack, the new Hummer H3T is sporting a HUMMER-branded DiamondBack tonneau cover. This one of a kind H3T cover will be available directly through Hummer dealers when this vehicle is launched in late August, early September. It will also be available through many aftermarket sources and you can choose from the traditional diamond plate style or a new LINE-X XTRA option shown in the pictures.

| | | 2010 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid SUV Saves Gas While Hauling Ass
The Detroit News have revealed the new 2010 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid SUV. Boasting a 3.6 liter V6 engine, the hybrid model is expected to "offer at least a 15% fuel savings, possibly up to 25 or 30 percent depending on applications". Whether or not those savings really help or matter at all, is questionable, especially when you're paying over $90,000 for an SUV anyway. If you are interested in the new hybrid Porsche SUV, you can hopefully see it on dealer lots by 2010.
