| Chrysler LLC and Nissan Halt Next Generation Titan Plans
Chrysler LLC and Nissan both announced they are halting all plans and concepts of the next generation Nissan Titan "indefinitely", which was to be built by Chrysler. Based off of the Dodge Ram 1500 model, both companies cited the bad economy as a factor of the decision, "Due to the current economic conditions, Nissan and Chrysler leadership directed their teams working on the two projects to work together in the first quarter of 2009 to improve the financial objectives for both companies before the projects move further forward".
Currently Nissan's plans for the Titan are to end production late next year but no word was said as to the future of the half ton pickup truck.

| 2009 Hummer H3T Alpha vs 2009 Nissan GTR Road Race
Ezra Dyer of Automobile Magazine came up with the idea of placing a 2009 Hummer H3T Alpha and 2009 Nissan GTR head to head in a race around (and through) the Colorado Rockies. The race took place from Telluride to Lake City, Colorado on a 166 mile course for the Nissan GTR and a 50 mile race for the Hummer H3T Alpha, where 14,000 foot mountain peaks tested the performance levels of each vehicle. Ezra wanted to see whether or not a performance car traveling an average of 50 miles per hour on a longer course could beat an off road truck traveling an average of 15 miles per hour on a shorter course. You'll have to head on over to their site to find the answer of who won...we'll just say the Nissan isn't as environmentally friendly.

| Nissan Considers Eliminating Armada and QX45 SUVs, and Titan Pickup Truck
Numerous news sources are claiming that Nissan USA are "strongly considering" on cutting their Armada SUV and Infiniti QX45 luxury SUV from their model line up entirely in the future, as well as replace the Titan pickup truck with their recently announced NV2500 commercial van. What that means for their relationship with Chrysler LLC and the future of the Dodge Ram pickup truck is uncertain, but with Chrysler also strapped for cash, the future for a Nissan pickup or Dodge Ram truck are looking grim.

Success in the work place can sometimes be hard to achieve, especially if you are not a straight shooter with your boss. Bob Slydell of "Office Space" tells us how you can become part of the "upper management" if you are like Peter Gibbons, "I'd like to move us right along to a Peter Gibbons. Now we had a chance to meet this young man, and boy that's just a straight shooter with upper management written all over him". So the question of the morning is, "are you a straight shooter with upper management written all over yourself"?

The question this morning is the same that was asked of Peter Gibbons by the Bob twins in "Office Space". "We're trying to get a feel for how people spend their day at work...so, if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you?". Peter then responds "Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work". Given you are reading this blog right now and happen to not be working at the moment, go ahead and check out our blogs from last week. | Jiffy-Tite Quick-Connect Fluid Fittings Make Checking Fluids EasierMore in: Chevrolet, Diesel, Dodge, Engine, Ford, Fuel, General Motors, GMC, New Products, Toyota | Comments | Permalink | 53,544 Views
In racing, it is absolutely mandatory that the fuel pressure regulator provides stable and proper fuel pressure to the carburetor, especially under extreme conditions. Until recently, changing out a regulator, or testing the fuel supply with traditional fittings required dealing with leaky dripping fuel lines, and then making sure the fittings are properly torqued. The quicker, easier solution is to use Jiffy-tite Quick Connect Fluid Fittings. These Quick-Connects provide a safe leak-proof seal and unsurpassed performance even under the most extreme racing conditions; allowing changeovers or checks to the fuel to occur in seconds, not minutes.Full Story...

| | | | Friday Beerblog: K&M Supercharger Spotted In The Wild
Earlier this year, YouTube's nottasrt4 spotted a Nissan 350Z with a "modified K&M Supercharger" in the wild. With camcorder in hand, he recorded a mini-documentary of what he saw. Upon catching up with the youthful driver of the 350Z a second time at a stop light, nottasrt4 rolled his window down and got an exclusive interview with the driver, revealing the true power of this sweet ride with 422 HP at the rear wheels. The driver claims his K&M blower runs at 14 PSI, his chipped 3.5L has stainless-steel twin cold air intakes, and rocks a stock exhaust which actually gets "better horsepower with the stock". The videos have to be seen to be believed. [via Muscle Car Blog]

| | Nissan Struggles, No More Titan?
In the December 24, 2007 issue of Newsweek, Nissan Motor Company CEO Carlos Ghosn stated in an interview, hints of a possible cancellation of the Titan pickup, "The name of the game is going to be more fuel-efficient cars..And when you make your product plans for the future, you can't say, 'I've always had a pickup truck, so I'll just keep improving it.' If you can't make it profitably, you have to get out".
Whether this hint will lead to the death of the slow-selling Titan (only 60,961 trucks to date) or not, we are not quite sure. However when your competitors, like the Dodge Ram, are selling 326,177 trucks and the 2007 Toyota Tundra at 177,336 trucks, not including Ford and Chevy, your full-size pickup market just got smaller.

Beware, this product is patented. It's called TruckShade and guess what it does?...You guessed it, provides shade for the side of your truck. I would like to see this thing survive one trip in the desert or any climate where there is any amount of wind, watching it break off and scratching the bed sides of your truck. The TruckShade weighs less than 5 pounds, "super compact" (like a tampon?), "quick and easy to set up", and retails at only $87.97 (someone took an economics class) for long bed trucks and $79.97 for 6 1/2 foot bed trucks. It's also been chosen as Dirt Rider Magazine's "Personal Picks" for "2006 Product of the Year". Well in my opinion, I vote the TruckShade as Truckblog's "2007 Crap Product of the Year". If you do like this product, you can visit their rad website at www.truckshade.com. They're almost in competition for the 2007 Webby Awards, watch out Truckblog.
