Wrapping up our SEMA coverage, our SEMA Video Part Two has been posted. Featuring customized rides, new products, and models or as we call them, "booth babes", part two offers another insight to the largest automotive trade show on the planet. Be sure to check out our full list of coverage as well.
As part of our continuing coverage of SEMA 2007, Truckblog is proud to announce the first, full coverage video of the 2007 SEMA Show. Full of the latest customized vehicles, hottest products on the market, and loaded with models, or as we know them, "booth babes", this feature video is part one of two, and will leave you craving for more. Part two will be released later this week.
Yes, the SEMA girls are there this week in full force. And yes, we now have a gallery devoted to these beautiful car babes.
Thanks to each and every one of them for taking the time to pose for us and make their automotive accessories extra super special. For our coverage of this year's hottest collection of headlights available for your specific vehicle, click the following link. The gallery will be updated throughout the week.
At this year's SEMA Show, Toyota had a nice surprise for all of us big truck fans; a 2008 Toyota Tundra Diesel Dually CrewMax concept. For all the photos and more information on this behemoth truck, visit our 2008 Tundra Diesel Dually info page.
The SEMA show is always an exciting place to walk around, first because there are literally thousands of great vehicles, but also because of the celebrities who frequent this mecca of car shows. Normally, Truckblog wouldn't dedicate a post to something that isn't related in some way to the auto industry - but let's face facts, this is notable to a fairly wide audience.
We ran across a guest today that none of us saw on the celebrity guest roster - tattoo artist Kat Von D - starlet of TLC's LA Ink.
Von D is one of the hottest names in the tattoo industry, and it just goes to show that you never know who you may run into here at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. – MichaelS
We're here live at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada all week. We'll be uploading some videos next week, and photos throughout this week. Check them out!
Updates
10/30 - Photos have been uploaded again due to technical difficulties. The larger photos should be visible now.
10/31 - Happy Halloween! Due to technical difficulties (too many late nights in Vegas?) the processing of photos from our 5 photographers at the show has taken far too much time. Processing photos now -- you'll have a ton to see this evening.
11/01 - Finished uploading all photos from Monday and Tuesday: over 750 photos so far and growing.
11/01 - Yes, the SEMA girls (aka Booth Babes?) are there this week in full force. And Yes, we now have a gallery devoted to these beauties.
11/04 - All photos from the Truckblog crew have now been uploaded, including the rest of the SEMA girl photos. Check out both galleries for updates!
Championship Off Road Racing tore its way through Chula Vista, California this past weekend, bringing with it intense off road trucks that were rolling over, crashing into one another, spinning out and more. Just in case you missed the action, we covered the event with 150 photos and a 4 minute video of all the destruction.
BMW has announced the integration of the Apple iPhone with some of their 2007 and later model vehicles, including the BMW X5 cross-over SUV. The iPhone uses the existing iPod availability as well as the current Bluetooth integration. The iPhone's iPod feature also allows for full radio and iDrive screen, but with that integration, creates an even larger traffic hazard. Read on for more information...
Yesterday we posted the photos and other information about the Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) racing event in Chula Vista this past weekend. Today we proudly present our latest original Truckblog video. Jason spent all day yesterday editing this video, and his work shows. He was definitely "in the zone" on this one. IMHO, it is the best video we have ever produced. Videography & editing by Jason Coe.
Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) is back in San Diego in a brand new Chula Vista International Raceway. This past weekend was the introduction of the new track to thousands of SoCal race fans and soon the world when the race is broadcast on NBC this July 29th. The new track is incredible (we had more fun than we should have) and the weather was cool for the first time. Our video is coming soon, but in the meantime check out the 240 photos of these 800 HP Pro-2 and Pro-4 trucks tearing up the new track. Photography by Chris Duke.
What are you doing this Sunday, May 6th? If you're in SoCal, you better be in Irvine, at the biggest, baddest truck show on the west coast! The Spring California Truck Jamboree kicks off the 2007 show season in a big way, with the west coast's finest trucks and SUVs representin'. This is no sleeper show, either. For starters, there's the burnout contest, the monster truck car crush courtesy of Shocker, an air hop contest featuring about a half a dozen trucks, and live music by Limelife.
Anyone who owns a 4 wheel drive knows who 4 Wheel Parts is – the biggest truck/SUV parts retail distributor in the US! This year, they gathered nearly all of manufacturers they distribute for, and put them all under one roof. All the vendors had their newest, latest, and greatest parts out for the show goers to see and play with. It was almost as if 4WP gave us all keys to their warehouse, and let us open all their boxes of toys. All the reps were out there to answer questions on their products, and they had fully staffed tills for the show goers to purchase parts right on the spot!
The serene setting of the Texas hill country was once again disrupted as hundreds of trucks converged on Fredericksburg for the 3rd annual incarnation of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Texas 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals. The event, held the last weekend of March, has proven to be a popular kick-off spot for the Jamboree tour as each year it gets bigger. This year's attendance of 11,000 included numerous Truckblog members displaying their trucks. Congratulations are in order to members TXFFEMT, Overkill, The Pistonhead and Muddin for bringing home numerous "Best Of" trophies in their respective classes. You've got to see the photos The next stop for the Jamboree will be Springfield Missouri on May 5-6.
Umm, the dog ate our camcorder... or, my computer crashed. Tape got stuck in the rewinder? Ok, the sad truth is that we've just been pretty dog-gone busy, and even though we've already published 4 other SEMA 2006 videos, we still had one left. This one covers the show a bit more slowly than the first one, and has some rather silly (drunken) outtakes at the end if you wait around long enough! Enjoy...
If those words make you crane your neck, looking for a monster truck flying through the air and crushing cars, then you were definitely at the Tacoma Dome for the Monster Jam this past weekend. The trucks were jamming around corners and flying over cars on a pre-determined track layout for the Monster Truck races. And later they had 90 seconds of time for the Monster Truck freestyle, where the trucks had free reign to do make the trucks pirouette through the air with the utmost grace, defying gravity, and even landing on their roofs!

Last weekend SKG Automotive Customizers, a SoCal automotive customization shop, opened a new state of the art facility located in Poway, California. Truckblog stopped by to see the new facility and learn what all the new buzz was about. Their other location (also in Poway) is being used for the multi-million dollar McMillin Racing team, who's own Andy McMillin recently won the 2006 Baja 1,000 Championship (co-piloted with the famous race driver, Robby Gordon). SKG had free food and drinks, product giveaways, and a car show with custom rides and trophy trucks. Truckblog were the first media on scene covering the event and we've composed a video of all the action. Check it out.
The other day we posted our first SEMA Show 2006 video for AMP Research and now we've finished our first video of the show itself. We've got more in the works, including extended SEMA Show 2006 coverage, but this is a great overview of what is there. Check it out!
Sure, it's not even 2007, and granted winter just began, but it's never too early to start thinking about the next big shows of 2007. As a proud sponsor of the Truck Jamboree shows, we're happy to start hyping this show as early as possible. So mark your calendars for Sunday May 6th, 2007. This is the 20th year of Truck Jam, so you can bet there are going to be some big things. Thanks to our pal Pierre, here's some of the official information about the show...
The Off-Road Expo, which took place on November 11th, made it's final stop of the year in Houston this past weekend. The show was an opportunity for local vendors and Off-Road shops to showcase their latest and greatest. While Texas sized trucks seemed to be the order of the day, Toyota had a good presence with the new FJ Cruiser and Jeeps were running a close third. Interco Tires capitalized on the show being in town and introduced their new 54” Bogger tires. As an added bonus, this humble scribe actually ran into Truckblog's own Mod Missy who was in attendance showcasing N-Fabs new product line.
Jason and I took off first thing this morning to Costa Mesa, CA, home of STILLEN HQ, to cover their second Titan Day event this year. I created two photo albums, one for photos of the event itself and another that contains photos of the Nissan Titan vs. Infiniti car. The event went off without a hitch, except STILLEN's dyno was having a bad day so they had to come up with an alternate plan to please the rowdy crowd. The solution? Get Robin Stover (editor of Four Wheeler Magazine) to take his 2004 Titan monster off-road custom truck and absolutely demolish an Infiniti car (which was scheduled to be crushed by law). The video is also available. Thanks Steve and John for lunch!
Just because summer is over, don't you start thinking that we are going to kick back, settle into the holidays, and forget about you all. On the contrary! We have more event coverage coming from events over the past few months, more from SEMA, and more from upcoming events. In case you missed the hype from the After Dark show, and the 350+ photos, check those out before watching Jason's latest video from the Cal Jam After Dark show this past September 30th. As expected, the sparks flew at night, so don't miss this video. Oh, and stick around at the end for some silly outtakes (what was I thinking?)
Last week was nuts! We all made it back safely and while we didn't have the opportunity to blog a whole lot last week while we were in Vegas, we'll make up for it this week. This year's SEMA Show was larger than ever, and we've got the photos to prove it. Today we're starting off with over 860 photos of vehicles and the "Girls of SEMA" and hundreds more are on the way. Later this week we'll have a series of videos from this year's SEMA Show. In case you missed it, Jason edited a SEMA preview video last week from Vegas for a taste of what's to come. Thanks to the rest of the Truckblog crew that made it out to Las Vegas this year -- it was another memorable experience.
This event, which began back in 2002 when Diesel Innovations (DI Performance) set up a "Clash of the Titans" all-diesel event in Baytown. Since then, this event has grown to massive proportions. With thousands of spectators and competitors flocking to the Houston Raceway Park this past weekend, the Bully Dog Texas Diesel Nationals was an incredible event to behold. This year the Bully Dog Texas Diesel Nationals featured the Nowel Thomas Memorial Drags, the DHRA Pro Diesel Drag Racing Series finals for Quick Diesel and Pro Street classes, fun and grudge drag racing, sled pull "Run for Fun" competition along with Work Stock and Street Diesel competition classes and DHRA Pro exhibition pulls, as well as the usual dyno, show 'n' shine and burnout competitions.
After we covered the CORR event last July in the 100 degree heat of Southern California, we knew we had to go back for more once things cooled down. Lucky for us, they had another event last month and the temps were about 20 degrees cooler. Once again we teamed up with Kevin Probst and his team from Probst Motorsports to cover another gnarly event. For this race Kevin was in pole position so we got even better coverage from our in-car cam before the mud shut us down. We've got 120 photos and a 4 minute video from our video guy Jason Coe that is a must see. Thanks again to Probst Motorsports for hookin' us up big time!
This past Saturday at the Long Beach Veterans Stadium in Long Beach, California, was the first show of its kind. An all day show that started in the morning and ended late at night. While the usual events were there, such as the air hop and burnout contest, "California Jamboree After Dark" featured the first ever rail dragging contest after the sun went down. We were there all day long, and while the video is still in the works, we couldn't wait to put up the photos. We captured over 350 shots of this event from morning 'til night. The rail dragging contest was the highlight of the day, as I'm sure anyone there can agree! We hope they bring it back next year!
Earlier this week we posted an article about the upcoming Summer TruckJam video from last weekend's big event in SoCal. As it turns out our video guy, Jason Coe, hasn't been screwing around this week and cranked out another winner. The Summer TruckJam 06 video packs in everything from the show in case you missed it. From the hot SoCal trucks to the hot bikini contest, this video covers the entire event from top to bottom. Check it out!
This past Sunday, August 6th, 2006, the Truckblog crew invaded the "California TruckJam", providing full coverage of the event. Filled with the hottest trucks and SUVs from all over Southern California, the TruckJam was the place to be, complete with an airhop contest, burnout competition and a killer bikini contest!
It's finally here... the biggest SoCal show is this Sunday, August 6th in Irvine, California. To get a feel for the action, be sure to check out our Spring TruckJam coverage. We'll be there again, providing some of the hottest video and photography around. Save $3 off admission by printing out this flyer courtesy of Truckblog, and bringing it with you. Want to learn more? Check out their new radio spot. On July 22nd, the Isle of Capri Casino in Lake Charles Louisiana put on a car and truck show, and Truckblog was there. The world famous Boyd Coddington and his wife, Jo Coddington, were the judges at the event. The show consisted of a total 50 cars, trucks, race cars, and hot rods. All the vehicles that attended the show were by invite only. One of our newest members to Truckblog, James (lincolnlightning), was also invited.

Champion Off Road Racing (CORR) hit Southern California hard this past Saturday. As if soaring 100-degree temperatures and an insane amount of humidity wasn't bad enough, add in a stadium-sized off-road event with dirt particles flying everywhere, and you've got something you can't miss. If you did miss it, well, we braved the elements to capture a few races on video and in pictures for you!
Southern California is right in the middle of a massive heat wave. Records are being set for high temperatures and high energy consumption. Near the border in Chula Vista, not only are there weather records being set, but a few automotive records are being set as well. Champion Off Road Racing has come to SoCal this weekend, and Truckblog will be there to cover it all!
Perhaps the largest Southern California truck show is coming up in less than a month. On August 6th, join Truckblog staff and thousands of others at the Verizon Amphitheater at Hidden Valley Park in Irvine for the largest, baddest truck show around. Truckblog is now an official sponsor of the summer TruckJam event, and if you download and print this flyer you can save $3 off the $15 admission. This show has it all, including an air hop contest, burnout contest, monster truck crush, live music, and more. Be there for the king of SoCal shows!
The fourth annual Texas Showdown was incredible as usual and we have the pictures to prove it. Hundreds of custom rides filled the several acres lot of the Sam Houston Raceway Park and attracted thousand upon thousands of spectators, drawn by the brilliant gleaming wheels, incredible paint designs and the smell of melted tires.
If you've been following along over the past few weeks, Truckblog was all over the 2006 Spring Truck Jamboree in SoCal, as proven by the multitude of photos and videos posted. With the most recent video posted late last night (thanks again, Jason!), our coverage of this huge show is now complete. Let's review:
Look, we admit we aren't just all about trucks, the aftermarket, and performance. Every now and then we like to sit back, grab an icy cold one and enjoy the scenery. What's a truck show without the ladies, wearing next to nothing? Why not put 'em on stage and let them show us their aftermarket accessories? Thanks to another great one from Jason, our video guy, for cranking out another tough assignment. Thanks to Pierre at the California Truck Jamboree for hooking us up.
Last week we posted some new videos from the 2006 Truck Jamboree in SoCal. Our video guy was hard at work over the long Memorial Day weekend to crank out another one for us. The Extreme Air Hopping video is now online fo' yo view'n pleasure.
Note: Video homey put in some Snoop Dizzle s-to-tha-izzong that contains some fizzoul language (tisk, tisk!) so if you're viewing in the office you might want to put your volume on the down-low, yo.
It's that time again. Mark your calendars for Houston's biggest and baddest car and truck show which will be happening June 3rd and 4th at the Sam Houston Raceway Park. As always, Truckblog will be there to cover the event for those of us who can't get a kitchen pass.
Truckblog was at the recent Spring Truckjam in Irvine, California, and the video footage is now coming in from our video guy, Jason Coe. The first two videos have been posted, which include some massive burnouts and monster truck crush by "Shocker". More videos and photos are on the way, so stay tuned!
This past April 9th every single tricked-out Ford vehicle in Southern California flocked to Knotts Berry Farm in Southern California for the 21st Annual "Fabulous Fords Forever" Show. This annual event in Orange County is the event for those whos veins pump blue (Ford) blood. Of course Truckblog was there and while we should have photos up soon, the video is here now, thanks to our video guy Jason Coe.
Um, the dog ate my hard drive? I lost the photo CDs at the strip club? The media was buried in my ten foot high pile of press kits and I just now found them? The photographers just now got back to me with their photos? Well, pick a good excuse because none of them are true. The sad truth is that we are just so backlogged with all the event coverage and editorial coming in that we kept putting it off. Sorry, guys. Thanks to Michael Schuerlein (teknics) and Jason Gillmore (2K BEAST) we now have close to 300 "new" photos from last year's 2005 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
The State 2 State Cruise started at "Out of Control Off Road" in Irvine, California, and ended at the London Bridge resort in Lake Havasu, Arizona. This yearly event started on Friday March 17th and ended on Sunday, the 19th. The entire show was put on by Primedia, and there was a boat regatta put on by Jokers Wild Promotions...

The Goodguys 6th Del Mar Nationals took place this past weekend. The annual show is a three day classic hot rod, truck and classics show which marks the start of the show season in Southern California. Truckblog was there on Saturday to cover the best rides we could find. The weather was perfect in Del Mar, and everyone was having a great time, including us! This year the show was the biggest we've seen, with over 2,000 rides through the 1972 model year spread all over the Del Mar fairgrounds. Photography by Chris.
Somehow Spring started without me realizing it. We've been so busy this past winter that we are still trying to get caught up on last year's SEMA Show (see recent video posted). Next weekend (March 31, Apri 1-2) marks the start of the show season for Southern California when the Goodguys Del Mar Nationals rolls into town at the famous Del Mar racetrack. This show isn't your typical current model monster truck show. Rather, this is a laid back seaside show filled with over 2,000 hot rods, trucks, customs and classics through the 1972 model year. We plan on attending, so look for photos soon.
This past November in Las Vegas at the SEMA Show 2005, we had a crazy opportunity to go drifting on behalf of STS (Squires Turbo Systems). Ben Cahoon, President & CEO of STS, hooked up our own Jason Coe in an insanely fast Corvette C5. Riding shotgun, Jason captured the entire drifting ride on film. Their unique turbo system jacked this C5 up to 535 HP and 503 ft/lbs of torque. Watch the video full screen and you'll feel like you were along for the ride. Thanks to STS for hooking us up!
At the Summernats 19 in Australia this year, Craig Munro took home the award of "HP Hero" with his turbo VX R8 ClubSport. Before catching on fire, his ride was able to produce 1,211 horsepower. While not exactly truck related, the achievement and the fire caught on video was amazing and we just had to share.
"There is plenty to gawk at this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit," MSNBC reports. "Some people say, ‘I [Tika] just want a picture of you; forget about the car,’” the tall, willowy 22-year-old model quipped as she swished her long dark hair and struck a stunning pose next to a big red Ferrari. There is plenty to gawk at this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. But at the Ferrari display, elegant feminine curves were turning just as many heads as the gorgeous bodywork on the Ferrari FXX sports car..."
Last week we we announced our first SEMA video and as promised, here's another view into the 2005 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Again, thanks to our videographer Jason Coe, Truckblog brings you "inside SEMA" during our second day at the show. Keep checking back as soon we'll have part three and several other videos!
We're not done with SEMA 2005 yet! We've got several videos in production right now, and the first one is finished and ready to go! Thanks to a lot of work by Jason Coe, this SEMA 2005 video captures the sights from our first day at the show. This is some professional looking coverage from Jason, so grab some popcorn, a soda, and fire up this five minute video to see what you missed at the SEMA 2005 Show in Las Vegas earlier this month!
