| CORR Tears Its Way Through Chula Vista
Championship Off Road Racing tore its way through Chula Vista, California this past weekend, bringing with it intense off road trucks that were rolling over, crashing into one another, spinning out and more. Just in case you missed the action, we covered the event with 150 photos and a 4 minute video of all the destruction.
Click here to view photos of the event.

Special thanks goes to John Marking, driver of the Fox Racing Shox Pro-4 #6 truck for letting us mount our cameras to it.

| | | | Spring Truck Jam Preview
What are you doing this Sunday, May 6th? If you're in SoCal, you better be in Irvine, at the biggest, baddest truck show on the west coast! The Spring California Truck Jamboree kicks off the 2007 show season in a big way, with the west coast's finest trucks and SUVs representin'. This is no sleeper show, either. For starters, there's the burnout contest, the monster truck car crush courtesy of Shocker, an air hop contest featuring about a half a dozen trucks, and live music by Limelife.

| 4 Wheel Parts Truckfest Coverage
Anyone who owns a 4 wheel drive knows who 4 Wheel Parts is – the biggest truck/SUV parts retail distributor in the US! This year, they gathered nearly all of manufacturers they distribute for, and put them all under one roof. All the vendors had their newest, latest, and greatest parts out for the show goers to see and play with. It was almost as if 4WP gave us all keys to their warehouse, and let us open all their boxes of toys. All the reps were out there to answer questions on their products, and they had fully staffed tills for the show goers to purchase parts right on the spot!

| Truckblog at the Texas Jamboree Nationals
The serene setting of the Texas hill country was once again disrupted as hundreds of trucks converged on Fredericksburg for the 3rd annual incarnation of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Texas 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals. The event, held the last weekend of March, has proven to be a popular kick-off spot for the Jamboree tour as each year it gets bigger. This year's attendance of 11,000 included numerous Truckblog members displaying their trucks. Congratulations are in order to members TXFFEMT, Overkill, The Pistonhead and Muddin for bringing home numerous "Best Of" trophies in their respective classes. You've got to see the photos The next stop for the Jamboree will be Springfield Missouri on May 5-6.

| 2006 SEMA Show Video Wrap-up
Umm, the dog ate our camcorder... or, my computer crashed. Tape got stuck in the rewinder? Ok, the sad truth is that we've just been pretty dog-gone busy, and even though we've already published 4 other SEMA 2006 videos, we still had one left. This one covers the show a bit more slowly than the first one, and has some rather silly (drunken) outtakes at the end if you wait around long enough! Enjoy...

| | SKG Motorsports Grand Opening
Last weekend SKG Automotive Customizers, a SoCal automotive customization shop, opened a new state of the art facility located in Poway, California. Truckblog stopped by to see the new facility and learn what all the new buzz was about. Their other location (also in Poway) is being used for the multi-million dollar McMillin Racing team, who's own Andy McMillin recently won the 2006 Baja 1,000 Championship (co-piloted with the famous race driver, Robby Gordon). SKG had free food and drinks, product giveaways, and a car show with custom rides and trophy trucks. Truckblog were the first media on scene covering the event and we've composed a video of all the action. Check it out.

| SEMA 2006 Coverage Video
The other day we posted our first SEMA Show 2006 video for AMP Research and now we've finished our first video of the show itself. We've got more in the works, including extended SEMA Show 2006 coverage, but this is a great overview of what is there. Check it out!

| | Houston Off-Road Expo Event Coverage
The Off-Road Expo, which took place on November 11th, made it's final stop of the year in Houston this past weekend. The show was an opportunity for local vendors and Off-Road shops to showcase their latest and greatest. While Texas sized trucks seemed to be the order of the day, Toyota had a good presence with the new FJ Cruiser and Jeeps were running a close third. Interco Tires capitalized on the show being in town and introduced their new 54” Bogger tires. As an added bonus, this humble scribe actually ran into Truckblog's own Mod Missy who was in attendance showcasing N-Fabs new product line.

| | Cal Jam After Dark Show: The Video
Just because summer is over, don't you start thinking that we are going to kick back, settle into the holidays, and forget about you all. On the contrary! We have more event coverage coming from events over the past few months, more from SEMA, and more from upcoming events. In case you missed the hype from the After Dark show, and the 350+ photos, check those out before watching Jason's latest video from the Cal Jam After Dark show this past September 30th. As expected, the sparks flew at night, so don't miss this video. Oh, and stick around at the end for some silly outtakes (what was I thinking?)

| | | Champion Off Road Racing Coverage Part Deux
After we covered the CORR event last July in the 100 degree heat of Southern California, we knew we had to go back for more once things cooled down. Lucky for us, they had another event last month and the temps were about 20 degrees cooler. Once again we teamed up with Kevin Probst and his team from Probst Motorsports to cover another gnarly event. For this race Kevin was in pole position so we got even better coverage from our in-car cam before the mud shut us down. We've got 120 photos and a 4 minute video from our video guy Jason Coe that is a must see. Thanks again to Probst Motorsports for hookin' us up big time!

| Cal Jam After Dark Show: Over 350 Photos!
This past Saturday at the Long Beach Veterans Stadium in Long Beach, California, was the first show of its kind. An all day show that started in the morning and ended late at night. While the usual events were there, such as the air hop and burnout contest, "California Jamboree After Dark" featured the first ever rail dragging contest after the sun went down. We were there all day long, and while the video is still in the works, we couldn't wait to put up the photos. We captured over 350 shots of this event from morning 'til night. The rail dragging contest was the highlight of the day, as I'm sure anyone there can agree! We hope they bring it back next year!

| | | | | | | Jumping Women at the 2006 Spring Truckjam
Look, we admit we aren't just all about trucks, the aftermarket, and performance. Every now and then we like to sit back, grab an icy cold one and enjoy the scenery. What's a truck show without the ladies, wearing next to nothing? Why not put 'em on stage and let them show us their aftermarket accessories? Thanks to another great one from Jason, our video guy, for cranking out another tough assignment. Thanks to Pierre at the California Truck Jamboree for hooking us up.

| Jumping Trucks at the 2006 Spring Truckjam
Last week we posted some new videos from the 2006 Truck Jamboree in SoCal. Our video guy was hard at work over the long Memorial Day weekend to crank out another one for us. The Extreme Air Hopping video is now online fo' yo view'n pleasure.
Note: Video homey put in some Snoop Dizzle s-to-tha-izzong that contains some fizzoul language (tisk, tisk!) so if you're viewing in the office you might want to put your volume on the down-low, yo.

| | Fabulous Fords Forever 2006 Video
This past April 9th every single tricked-out Ford vehicle in Southern California flocked to Knotts Berry Farm in Southern California for the 21st Annual "Fabulous Fords Forever" Show. | | | Goodguys' 6th Del Mar Nationals Photo Gallery
The Goodguys 6th Del Mar Nationals took place this past weekend. The annual show is a three day classic hot rod, truck and classics show which marks the start of the show season in Southern California. Truckblog was there on Saturday to cover the best rides we could find. The weather was perfect in Del Mar, and everyone was having a great time, including us! This year the show was the biggest we've seen, with over 2,000 rides through the 1972 model year spread all over the Del Mar fairgrounds. Photography by Chris.

| Goodguys 6th Del Mar Nationals
Somehow Spring started without me realizing it. We've been so busy this past winter that we are still trying to get caught up on last year's SEMA Show (see recent video posted). Next weekend (March 31, Apri 1-2) marks the start of the show season for Southern California when the Goodguys Del Mar Nationals rolls into town at the famous Del Mar racetrack. This show isn't your typical current model monster truck show. Rather, this is a laid back seaside show filled with over 2,000 hot rods, trucks, customs and classics through the 1972 model year. We plan on attending, so look for photos soon.

| Truckblog Goes Drifting
This past November in Las Vegas at the SEMA Show 2005, we had a crazy opportunity to go drifting on behalf of STS (Squires Turbo Systems). Ben Cahoon, President & CEO of STS, hooked up our own Jason Coe in an insanely fast Corvette C5. Riding shotgun, Jason captured the entire drifting ride on film. Their unique turbo system jacked this C5 up to 535 HP and 503 ft/lbs of torque. Watch the video full screen and you'll feel like you were along for the ride. Thanks to STS for hooking us up!

| Mega Australian Horsepower, Mate!
At the Summernats 19 in Australia this year, Craig Munro took home the award of "HP Hero" with his turbo VX R8 ClubSport. Before catching on fire, his ride was able to produce 1,211 horsepower. While not exactly truck related, the achievement and the fire caught on video was amazing and we just had to share.

| ''Booth Babes'' Rampant at NAIAS
"There is plenty to gawk at this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit," MSNBC reports. "Some people say, ‘I [Tika] just want a picture of you; forget about the car,’” the tall, willowy 22-year-old model quipped as she swished her long dark hair and struck a stunning pose next to a big red Ferrari. There is plenty to gawk at this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. But at the Ferrari display, elegant feminine curves were turning just as many heads as the gorgeous bodywork on the Ferrari FXX sports car..."

| Wings, Wheels, Rotors & Expo 2005
This past year the shows have been great... we've had Mustangs and trucks, a cruise liner and trucks, and to wrap the show season up, we now have planes and trucks. The Wings, Wheels, Rotors & Expo was held on October 23rd at the Joint Forces Training Base on the Los Alamitos Army Airfield in Southern California and Truckblog was there. Thanks to Lynn Guthrie for covering the event, who's background includes flying and of course, trucks.

| | | | 2005 Queen Mary Event Photos
What does the RMS Queen Mary and a car show have in common? Nothing, until you throw a heap of cars and trucks at it. This annual event, held in September, makes for outstanding photographic opportunities. Our own Truckblog photographer Lynn Guthrie was there and took advantage of the scenery. Many of our members' trucks were captured by Mr. Guthrie with the dramatic Queen Mary as the backdrop. Nice work, old man!

The big summer car and truck shows are over, and while there are a few smaller ones that remain throughout the country, we are looking forward to the big show in Vegas next month (SEMA). One of the biggest shows in SoCal this summer was the Cruisin' For A Cure show, held September 24th in SoCal. We sent two Truckblog photographers there to cover the show, and thanks to Lynn Guthrie and Jason Gillmore, a new photo album is born.

| Truckblog Invades 2005 SEMA Show
A month from today the SEMA Show will be coming to a close, and the party will be over. Last year we covered the hell out of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. We offered complete coverage of the show, from new products, the SEMAgirls, new vehicles, girls, custom rides, event coverage, and of course, the girls of SEMA. This year we're doing it all again, only better. We're sending six photographers and writers from our Truckblog crew there to cover it all. And this year, we are sporting the SEMA logo at our site, now that X7 Media has become an official supporting member of SEMA.

Thanks to Lynn Guthrie, Jason and Jason Gillmore, we have a few hundred photos of trucks, chicks, and the events to keep you plenty busy this weekend.

No trucks? So what!
As long as there are sweet rides and ladies, Truckblog will somehow find its way there. After all, a lot of the lowered street trucks and mini trucks get their ideas from the imports. We sent our own "Frozone" photographer to the show to see what was up. Here's what he came back with.

| Ebay & Primedia Team up for the Charity Challenge Primedia, the publisher for the Truckin', The Worlds Leading Truck Publication and Ebay, the worlds first and largest online auction house have teamed up to support the Charity Cars (http://www.800charitycars.com) organization by organizing the Primedia Editors Charity Challenge.
Ten teams, each from a different magazine that Primedia produces, were given $25,000 for their project with the following stipulations. The Truck must appear stock after the monster crew is done... no wait, that's the wrong show... The vehicle must be purchased from Ebay motors, and then 75% of the remaining 25K must be spent on parts through Ebay motors. We will see how they do. Currently none of the teams have anything done other than the initial purchase. Once the build is completed, the vehicles will be auctioned off and the proceeds for this incredible advertising opportunity for Ebay and Primedia will be donated to the Charity Cars organization. Sounds pretty cool!
The Editors of "Custom Trucks" were able to snag this awesome 97 Chevy C1500 for their base truck at a cool $11,550, which was already modified with a 2K Cadillac front clip, a poorly done air suspension, several interior mods and a couple of other nifty add ons. With the additional 13.5K the team will swap the air suspension for a bolt on drop kit and change the existing 20's and tread for a sweet set of 20's in the front and 22's in the rear. Changing the interior from it's previous tweed & vinyl combo to leather is a no brainier and several performance mods will also be thrown into the mix. Their motto for the truck - "It'll take first place and your girlfriend." which is kinda cocky, but we all like that.
Keep tabs on their progress at:
