 2011 Ford Super Duty Spyshots
More spyshots today from Pickuptrucks. This time it's a couple shots from a 2011 Ford Super Duty cruising through the desert. The next generation Super Duty seems to be looking a whole lot closer to the F-250 Super Chief Concept that debuted several years ago. Noticeable changes include a new grille, re-designed front and rear fenders, change in placement of the side emblems, new front bumper, and what seems to be a power dome hood found on the 2010 Mustang GT.

| | 2011 Chevrolet Heavy Duty Duramax Diesel V8 Engine Spyshot
Pickuptrucks has been busy as usual looking for the latest and the greatest truck photos. This time they've found a spyshot of the 2011 Chevrolet Heavy Duty Duramax Diesel V8. Details about the engine are as follows: “The new Duramax diesels are based on the same engines that have been around since 2001,” said Gary Arvan, a GM diesel powertrain engineering chief. “The 2500 and 3500 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HD pickups receive the high-power LML motor [replacing the 2007-10 LMM], while the 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty vans receive the lower-rated LGH engine [also replacing the LMM]. Both have iron blocks, aluminum cylinder heads, and their [6.6-liter] bore and stroke are unchanged.”

| 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 Power Wagon Spy Shot
Earlier this month we brought you spy shots of the 2010 Dodge Ram R/T but now our spy photographers have caught the 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 Power Wagon roaming the streets of Detroit. This latest photo is a rare one as Dodge have not brought much attention to their heavy duty pickups in a while, as the market conditions and fuel prices have axed the popularity of the pickup trucks. This particular photo is of the "Power Wagon" edition, which includes a 4.56 rear axle with locking front and rear differentials, electronic war bar disconnect, beefier tires and special aluminum wheels.

| 2010 Dodge Ram R/T Spy Shots
New spy shots of the 2010 Dodge Ram R/T were posted by SEMA last week. The latest generation features 22 inch five spoke painted wheels with 285/45R22 Goodyear Fortera tires and a removable soft tonneau cover which is believed to be used to "help the 2010 R/T gain back some of the fuel efficiency sacrificed for its strong off-the-line performance". Check out other photos at SEMA.org.

| 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty Long Bed Spy Shot
The guys over at Pickuptrucks spotted a 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty pickup truck equipped with a long bed in the wild. The test mule has what seems to be a larger four door crew cab model with a new 8 foot optional bed, up from the current 6 and 4 foot configurations. Missing from this photo is a dual rear wheel configuration which was found at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show but details regarding the dual rear model have not been captured yet.

| New Global Ford Ranger Spotted, Verdict Says It Sucks
Spy photographers for Pickuptrucks.com caught new pictures of the Ford's next generation global Ford Ranger pickup truck. The photos showcase a single and double cab version of the truck and a large re-design of the exterior styling. A source close to the project said it "will likely be powered by a new 1.6 liter, four cylinder direct injection turbocharged EcoBoost engine" with figures around "175 horsepower and 180 ft lbs".
The bottom line? It's pretty ugly and gutless.

| 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty Spy Shots
Automobile Magazine caught new pictures of the next generation 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck on the road outside Ford's facilities in Dearborn, Michigan. The front end and bed sides have been camouflaged completely and the exposed cab does show a re-designed exterior, specifically the area around the rear window. The front end seems to show off a very large grille similar to the Super Chief concept but the rest of the design remains the same as Ford's 2008 update. Super Duty fans looking for a 2011 refresh won't see a whole lot, judging by these photos.

| 2011 Toyota 4Runner Spy Shots
Popular automotive blog, Jalopnik, have obtained images from an enthusiast of a next generation 2011 Toyota 4Runner on the highway. Not much can be seen through the thick camouflage, but the new 4Runner seems to reflect a lot of the Tundra and Sequoia styling with a larger grille and head light assembly.

| Jeep Wrangler J8 Spy Shots
Two new Jeep Wrangler J8's were spotted last week outside the American Expedition Vehicle's office in Michigan. Not available to civilians, the Jeep J8's are manufactured in Cairo, Egypt as military specification support vehicles. The J8's feature 2.8 liter four cylinder diesel motors along with full leaf sprung suspension (no coil springs like in American made Jeeps). Very cool.

| 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty: More Truck, More Tonka
Automotive rendering specialist, Mark Stehrenberger, posted his version of the next generation 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty on Pickuptrucks.com. The 2011 platform is expecting a complete refresh from it's current 10 year old body styling, adding more truck and more "tonka" like features grabbed from Ford's F-350 Tonka concept back in 2002.
If the speculation behind this rendering is true, we can expect Super Duty owners to be slightly disappointed due to the consistent styling from the F-150 and the lack of a "Super" heavier duty truck. Exterior styling aside, the re-designed truck is expected to receive Ford's now 6.7 liter "Scorpion" V8 diesel motor which will replace the current 6.2 liter.

| Ford Scorpion 6.7 Diesel Underhood Spyshot
Pickuptrucks have caught a new image of Ford's "Scorpion" 6.7 liter diesel V8 engine slated for production this fall to replace the current 6.4 liter diesel. Known for it's clean diesel technology, the 6.7 liter's power targets are more than 390 horsepower and 720 foot pounds of torque, up from a previous 350 and 650 specification. Fuel efficiency is also expected to increase nearly 3 miles per gallon in conjunction with Ford's new six speed automatic transmission.

| Next Generation Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck Spotted
Although Lincoln have discontinued the Mark LT pickup truck for 2009, the company is still developing the next generation version based off of the 2009 Ford F-150. In the spyshot seen here, the new Mark LT is built off of the 2009 Ford F-150 Platinum edition and doesn't feature anything unique other than a large (and quite ugly) grille spliced between the F-150's new head lights and some different badges. Anyone interested in the next generation Lincoln Mark LT can pick one up outside the states in Mexico, where demand is quite high for the luxury pickup truck.

| | | | 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Spotted In The Wild
Car and Driver have obtained new images of the 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV loaded up with camouflage. You can't see much in the photo but the re-designed Cherokee is expected to have a longer wheelbase, a longer cab to accompany a third row seat, as well as a possible HEMI V8 engine.

| 2010 Lexus RX Hybrid SUV Spotted
Carscoop obtained images of the new re-designed 2010 Lexus RX SUV without any camouflage. Some speculation has also rose regarding a 7 passenger longer wheel base version of the RX, similar to the Chevrolet Suburban and Ford Expedition but those rumors have not been confirmed. The new RX350 and RX450 are packed with an updated V6 hybrid motor and we could see these options become available as early as the beginning of next year.

| | 2011 Ford Explorer Spotted, No Longer an SUV
Jalopnik obtained images of the newly re-designed 2011 Ford Explorer which features a more "car-like" structure than its previous sport utility vehicle brother, ditching the old "body on frame" construction and using a unibody configuration. Exterior wise, the new Explorer looks to be a clash of the Ford Taurus X and Ford Flex vehicles. Whatever the hell it is, the re-designed look is ugly. FAIL, Ford. Head on over to the story at Jalopnik for more images.

Pickuptrucks obtained the latest image of Ford's next generation diesel motor slated for the F-Series Super Duty pickup truck. Dubbed "Scorpion", the 6.7 liter diesel eight cylinder engine was found driving around the factory in Dearborne, Michigan. The new motor is expected to replace the current Navistar 6.4 liter "Power Stroke" by 2011 and is said to produce nearly 390 horsepower and 720 foot pounds of torque. If you look closely at the photo, you'll notice that the motor is actually slanted back, almost to allow for an even larger radiator. What do you think?

| | | | | | Friday Beerblog: The 2009 Lamborghini SUV
I found this thing on The Car Connection website and man, is it ugly or what? It looks like a Porsche Cayenne that mated with a Lamborghini front end or a lifted Lambo on 26 inch rims. Looks aside, the engine for this sucker is rumored to be the V-10 from the Gallardo, but the Cayenne's 4.5 liter V-8 is also available. There's also a potential diesel version in the works, rumored to be a 5.9 liter Audi V-12 TDI. Even if Lamborghini decides to use a killer engine in their SUV, they should also consider re-designing the vehicle body since it's just plain ugly.

| Ford F-350 Camo Spy Shots
Some new spy shots of the upcoming Ford Super Duty F-350 have been posted over at Autoblog. Ford's camouflage paint job attempt doesn't cover much, as the entire front end of the truck is visible. From the firewall back, the truck looks exactly the same as the current model, with the exception of the mirrors being re-designed to be more square with relocated turn signals within the mirrors. On the front end, the headlights are new, and the front valance has been updated slightly. We're still waiting for a major re-design of the Super Duty worth writing home about.
