Mopar Shows Off Jeep Lower Forty and Grand Canyon II
More in: Jeep, Off-Road | Comments | Permalink | 18,160 Views

Edmunds Inside Line had the chance to play with some of Mopar's custom Jeeps, the Jeep Lower Forty and Jeep Grand Canyon II. Based off of the Jeep Wrangler platform, Chrysler designed the concepts as a way to show off Mopar's custom performance parts and accessories. Chrysler issued statements regarding their custom Jeep, "The Mopar Underground crew added the aggressive wheels and tires to a stock, two-door Wrangler Rubicon without the use of a suspension lift," and "The team's goal was to achieve added ground clearance without altering the vehicle's center of gravity. To accomplish that feat, the team trimmed copious amounts of the body and fenders to provide the needed tire clearance. Once achieved, the team used a saw to chop out 3 inches of height from the windshield frame and increased the rake by 10 degrees."

To check out the rest of their review, head on over to the Inside Line website.

New design signals comprehensive engineering change under the skin," says Phil Popham, Land Rover Managing Director. Star billing on the LR4 goes to the highly efficient and refined new LR-V8 direct injection engine. This delivers 25% more power and 19% more torque than the previous 4.4-liter engine. The power and torque are both accessible across the entire rev range, to deliver immediate throttle response and effortless cruising ability, giving a 0-60 mph time of 7.5 seconds (0-100km/h in 7.6 seconds.)

2009 Is The Year For Family Vacations
More in: Fuel | Comments | Permalink | 10,615 Views

According to the Energy Information Administration gasoline prices will remain an average of $2.23 per gallon this summer in comparison to the $3.81 per gallon price we paid last summer, allowing us to all have a Griswold vacation (I can see Mort already hopping into his van). The reason for such cheap gasoline is due to low crude oil prices and an increase in barrel production thanks to two new oil drilling platforms stationed off the Gulf of Mexico.
