| | | | Hummer Sale Brakes Ahead, Enviornmental Factor Questioned
The Hummer saga just took a bizarre turn once again with the Chinese National Radio stating that Tengzhong, the company behind purchasing Hummer, released a statement regarding Hummer and environmental concerns. The National Development and Reform Comission and Ministry of Commerce need to approve the sale of Hummer and approve its environmental effects. Tengzhong are still working on a deal stating there's no "definitive agreement" yet.
Since when did China care about emissions and the environment?

| Ford Ranked Number One In Canadian Sales For First Time in 50 Years
Ford Motor Company posted a U.S. sales loss of only 11 percent for the month of June, far ahead of the competition from both Detroit and Japan. However our friends from the north, Canada, are experiencing growth where Ford ranked number one in sales for the first time in over 50 years.
Ford posted a 25 percent increase in sales over the same time last year, where Toyota and Honda experienced declines of 17 percent.
So why is Ford doing so well these days? The sales increase is being pinpointed on increases in CUV and SUV sales, up 41 percent, as well as the F-150 up 59 percent.

| Ford Considers Build of Crew Cab SVT F-150 Raptor
Ford has received a handful of requests for a SuperCrew version of the SVT F-150 Raptor pickup truck set to go on sale this Fall. Mike Levine of Pickuptrucks spoke with Mark Grueber, For'd Marketing Manager where he found out "We've had requests for a crew cab [Raptor]," said Grueber. "We haven't made any decisions but there's some demand for it. Not everyone is going to use [the Raptor] for aggressive off-roading. It could be something similar to the four-door [Jeep] Wrangler".
Ford has received orders higher than expected for the pickup truck, so a crew cab version is very possible in the future.

| | | Chrysler Cancels Dodge Ram 1500 Light Duty Diesel Engine
Chrysler LLC has temporarily canceled plans for a diesel engine for the Dodge Ram 1500 model pickup truck. Mark Land of Cummins commented on the reports, "We've been trying to rework development of the [light-duty diesel] engine over the last several months, given the current economic climate" and "this is not a surprise". Chrysler on the other hand have neglected to comment on the news. The reason for cancellation is being blamed on the terms with the new government owned Chrysler and their declaration of bankruptcy. All future plans have been put on hold.
