NHTSA investigating 2006-2007 Trailblazers for possible power window switch issue.

[ 0 ] March 23, 2012 |

Well this can’t be good. The NHTSA is looking into several reports of power window switches in 2006-2007 Chevy Trailblazers possibly burning or melting. Several reports of the same problem have also been found after having been filed by GMC Terrain owners.

On the surface, it may not sound like that drastic of a situation. But, when you dig a little deeper, you find that the burned or melted switches may have led to fires in the door panel and supposedly large fires in the vehicle that started in the same general area. We will keep an eye and see if the NHTSA releases any updated information on the investigation. It is NOT a reported recall at this time, so if you have experienced a burning or melted power window switch in your 2006-2007 Chevy Trailblazer or GMC Terrain please let the NHTSA know and contact your local GM dealer ASAP!
