Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator issue recalls for faulty head restraints
We are barely into 2012 and the recall notices have already started piling up. The latest recall has Ford Motor Company issuing a recall on almost 600 Expedition and Navigator models due to a faulty head restraint system. This recall affects Expedition and Navigator models made from November 9, 2011 through December 2, 2011.
The head restraint issue is with the passenger side second row seat. It may not provide the correct amount of protective support in the event of a crash due to inadequate welds on the corresponding support brackets. Ford Motor Company will start notifying owners on or around February 20, and will replace the faulty head restraints free of charge. Anyone with questions related to this recall can contact Ford directly at 1-866-436-7332.
