Ferris teases taking another day off… world explodes

It is one of the most beloved movies of all time. A true masterpiece of teenage angst that literally everyone who has ever seen it can relate to in one form or another. The movie I’m referring to is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and unless you have been under a rock, or cornered by a pack of blood thirsty dingos, you know that the internet world is on fire with the teaser video released yesterday showing a middle aged Ferris contemplating hooky yet again.

Speculation ran rampant when the video was first released, with theories flying around like pies at a clown college during finals. One of the biggest Ferris fans of all time, Chris Duke, Executive Producer, Editor and Host of Motorz, earned another notch on his Tech Nerd badge by breaking down the video frame by frame and discovering a slight error in the transition scene from the video. He noticed that as Ferris is being shot from behind while walking to the curtains, he apparently has glasses on. However, in the next part of the scene they are nowhere to be found. He also noticed that the opacity in the curtains changed with the transition as well. There were also reports of people speculating what exactly was going on by examining the sparse items in the background. A picture of Chris’ shot breakdown is provided below.

Today however, we have learned that the video is part of a huge ad campaign by Honda to be shown during the Super Bowl this year. Our friend Matt Hardigree over at Jalopnik released the exclusive story this morning (great job Matt!), explaining that no… there wasn’t another Ferris movie heading our way, and that this teaser is but a part of several ads to be run by Honda during the Super Bowl featuring Ferris. So now that our hopes for another Ferris movie have been dashed against the rocks of humanity, are you interested in seeing what Honda has planned, or are you grabbing your torches and pitchforks as we speak?
