Staged accidents on the rise

[ 0 ] May 20, 2010 |

Staged accidents are where unscrupulous slime target innocent individuals by staging an accident, sometimes with more than one vehicle involved, and then attempting to defraud the innocent person’s insurance company. This not only costs the insurance companies but also the innocent persons who have been targeted by such a shady, and dangerous, racket.

The number of staged accidents rose 46% in 2 years between 2007 and 2009. The poor economy likely has driven this number of incidents up as people have become more desperate to make a buck.
