Ford recalls 33,000 due to potential seat failure
Certain 2010 Fusion, Explorer, Explorer SportTrac and Mercury Milan and Mountaineer vehicles built between mid-December 2009 and February 2010 have been voluntarily recalled by Ford due to a faulty reclining mechanism in the front seat.
The concern is that in an accident the mechanism may fail causing the seat to collapse rearward potentially injuring the driver and any passengers in the backseat. The NHTSA also found that the head restraints do not meet federal standards and must be replaced. As this is a recall, Ford will replace the items at no cost to owners.
Concerned owners can contact Ford at 866-436-7332.
