Land Rover Adds New Turbocharged V6 Diesel Engine
Land Rover announced they will add a new engine to their LR3 and Discovery SUV lineup, borrowing Jaguar’s 3.0 liter twin turbocharged V6 diesel engine. Delivering 272 horsepower and 420 foot pounds of torque, the diesel engine offers a 12 percent increase in gas mileage which is a desperate need for the sport utility vehicle. The new motor will be replacing Land Rover’s current 2.7 liter TDV6, good for 190 horsepower and 324 foot pounds of torque. Not too shabby, increase in power and fuel efficiency at the same time!
