Friday Beerblog: Extreme USPS Makeover
In an effort to combat online bill pay, the USPS has opted for sprucing up some of their conventional delivery trucks to improve their image.
Their new fleet of Jeep mail carriers will feature a range of aftermarket modifications. The mods include new wheels and tires, leather seat for the driver, and flames.
Depending on the city, the new image will be dramatically changed with either a 5-inch drop (for example, Los Angeles) or a 4-inch suspension lift in such cities as Beaumont Texas. Some select Jeeps will also receive exhaust kits from Borla or Flowmaster.
An optional whistle tip (made popular by Bubb Rubb) is also being supplied by exhaust manufacturer Gibson Performance. Think it’s exciting to hear the circus tunes when the ice cream man drives down the street? Wait til you get a load of your new whistling mailman.
Carriers will also be encouraged to wear leisure clothing, such as Hawaiian shirts, to assist in improving their historically dull and monochromatic image.
Look for the new fleet of Jeeps from the US Postal Service tearing up your neighborhood this summer.
